I'm having trouble deciding whether to buy some new stuff and go for a classier formal Christmas this year or stick with my 1950's kitschy Christmas that I inherited from my grandmother (complete with a tree that starts out as a closet pole).

We aren't decorating this year since we are moving two days after Christmas. It makes me a bit sad, but then I remember I've got an awesome townhouse to decorate once we get to Atlanta and I feel better.

Off to shop tonight after work...we shall see how it goes. If DH doesn't rein in my spending I may just get to update the closet pole!
Here is our tree! It's so weird to me that the tree farm here sells Cypress trees...is that a southern thing?

I don't know about the Cypress trees. We bought a really nice, huge fake tree at Target (60% off) after Christmas a few years ago that we put up. I love real trees but have a huge fear of them catching fire.

Sadle - thanks! H and I both grew up with fake trees (his parents don't even do one anymore) so we thought it would be nice to do a real tree this year.
