TGIF

Happy Friday ladies!

My ILs are still here! They are here until Monday and I am p!ssed, I only have this weekend and next to pack our house up. I know if I start packing, MIL will ask me 55,000 times what she can do to help and I really don't want her help! I told DH that they have to be out of the house this weekend and he can entertain them. I am also not happy about the amount of money we have had to spend on groceries. Keep in mind they were only supposed to be here over "Grey Cup" weekend which has turned into a week and a half. I hate being taken advantage of and not being able to say anything! MIL did make dinner last night, but she is the worst cook and her "stew" tasted like watered down/overcooked potatoes with no flavor! yuck!

Anyway, here are my weekend plans:

Friday- Not sure what we're doing, DH is working late.

Saturday- I have to start packing. I am also going to the "Festival of Trees", another wife and I decorated a Christmas tree from DH's team to be donated and auctioned off for charity. We got free passes to the event so we can go and see our creation. I also may go see Harry Potter.

Sunday- Pack some more.

Re: TGIF

  • I know you really don't want your MIL to help but maybe you could let her do some easy tasks, like cleaning and vacuuming or packing simple stuff. I mean, if she's going to overstay her welcome, you might as well put her to work, KWIM?

    Anywho, here are my plans:

Friday- The personal trainer is coming for his second free session tonight. I also need to start washing all the baby's stuff and actually put up my own laundry. I'm really tired of clothes.

Saturday- Nothing that I know of.

Sunday- Church in the morning and then football.

  • Friday- Tonight we have DH's company's Christmas party.  I have to leave in about an hour since our works are approximately 100 miles apart so it's going to take me some time to get there!  Definitely one downside of commuting in opposite directions.

Saturday- We need to finish all of our holiday shopping.  We pretty much know what we want to get everyone, we just actually have to do it.  We're busy for the next two following weekends so this is our last weekend before Christmas.

Sunday- Cleaning up the explosion that has occurred over the past few months in our closet.  We'll probably do our other normal "Sunday activities" such as food shopping, etc.

  • Friday:  Packing up the rest of the house for Saturday's arrival of NEW CARPET!!!!  Hanukkah family dinner at the IL's.  My BFF is coming with her little girl this year, which will be a nice thing for me to have someone to talk to. :)

Saturday:  We'll start by moving our 80-gallon saltwater fish tank.  It's not going to be easy or a clean, dry process.  We're hoping our currently ill puffer survives the move.  NEW CARPET!  I can't even begin to describe how happy I am about this.  Our current carpet is about 18 years old, fraying, tacks sticking through, dirty, smelly.. it's embarrassing.  This is kind of our presents to each other.

Sunday:  Usual shopping, cooking, etc. and then unpacking all of the boxes.

  • Tonight: No major plans yet, so probably pretty uneventful

Saturday: Wine tasting in the afternoon, then I am taking DH ice skating and to dinner for his birthday.  I've never been ice skating before, so it should be fun.

Sunday:Probably putting up the Christmas tree and laundry.
