best places to buy used furniture

I'm wondering if anyone knows of some good places to buy used furniture in Cincinnati. I went to Snooty Fox Furniture Den but though they were really overpriced for what they had. Any other ideas? Somewhere in NKY would be nice, but I'm willing to drive if it will be worth my time.

TIA!!!!

Re: best places to buy used furniture

  • They are overpriced!  I'd go to an antique store (there's an antique mall in Florence) or even a thrift store BUT I would only buy pieces I can hose down or disinfect.  I am not willing to risk bedbugs by buying used upholstered furniture.

  • Yeah, I will NOT be buying anything upholstered. Too gross, you never know what's happened to it. I'm really looking for a headboard and something I can use for an entertainment center.
  • I'd suggest checking out craigslist... You can find some great deals from people who just want to get rid of their old stuff! Plus, you don't have to drive all over town in the cold to look at things.

  • There is a furniture place in Milford (near the HS) that is not used furniture, but rather overstocks or extras from Macys, Pennys, etc.  I never checked their prices for furniture, but the prices on their bedding was amazing.  As in 20-30$ for queen size comforters.  I am sure there are similar stores closer to you, I just don't know of any. Also, if you are decently craft, you may be able to make them yourself pretty inexpensively.  Not sure if that is something you are interested in or not.

  • I do not, but I will be in that area tomorrow so I can look for you. I do know the address woud be 1000 something St. Rt. 151, Milford, OH 45150.  It's right across from Jerry's Cheesecakes if you ever went there during your wedding planning ;)
