Phew, that was a fun vacation but I'm so glad to be home. Did I miss anything exciting?
We spent two nights at the inlaws for Thanksgiving, then one wild night in SF with friends of ours (omg, haven't had that many drinks in a long time), two nights in Fort Bragg/Mendocino (lovely, but still doesn't top the central coast) and last night in Calistoga. That's the first time I've been to Napa Valley. And it cracked me up because it looks SO much like the area I grew up in, near the Finger Lakes region of central New York (which is a wine growing region in its own right, just doesn't have the cache of Napa).
We love going places off season. I swear we were the only people in our hotel in Calistoga. The guy I'd never seen before working the desk when I checked out knew my name.
Oh, and I know I learned about Glass Beach from a nestie, but I can't remember who. Anywho, thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah, the drive going the other way, is worse. The other way meaning the road without the redwoods. We thought it would be faster, it so, so wasn't. If you ever go back you should check out the lighthouse. Also Pomo Bluff I should have mentioned.
