Re: Best teethers?

  • Sophie is popular, if you want to overpay for what is really just a dog chew toy.

We don't have one of these, but a friend does and she swears by it:  First Years Massaging/Vibrating Teether

We like the simple freezer ones.

  • Love you too, Modster.

Seriously though, check out the description on that link.  It's not far off from describing a different kind of vibrating toy.  Not to mention the thing is pretty much ribbed for baby's pleasure.

"Playful and child-friendly, this teether offers a different kind of comfort. Powered by a small, long-life battery sealed inside, the textured chewable star points produce a safe, soothing vibration whenever the child bites down on them."

  • In other WTF baby products, what is this if not a product to facilitate bottle propping??

    image

And yet the description includes a huge "DO NOT BOTTLE PROP" disclaimer:

    Keep-It-Up Bottle Holder by Leachco

This bottle holder is ideal for hands-free "snuggle me close" feeding time. The soft, cushy grip is especially made for little hands. It is designed to keep baby bottles from tipping and leaking. Ring has an expandable opening to fit most bottles. 100% cotton flannel with 100% polyester fiberfill and polypropylene pellets. Machine wash. Made in the U.S.A.

NOTE: Do not use this product as a bottle prop. You should never prop a bottle, leaving no control over the flow of liquid into baby's mouth. Not a substitute for adult supervision or parental bonding through physical contact. Never leave infant unattended.

  • And another...do you really need a tiny battery operated formula mixer?  What happened to just shaking a damn bottle??

Can't believe people actually pay for this crap.

People will pay anything for a the in product that shows they are a caring, and informed parent.

The insanity over sophie on the bump is mind bottling, especially the ones that are all "I can justify the expense because my baby will never need another teething toy ever. This is going to cure them of all teething pain forever and ever amen."

This is Ethan's favorite teether. He can turn it just about any way and still find a way to get a part in his mouth.

Sounds like the electric chocolate milk mixer. I wish I could think of a way to take money from lazy people.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • We got a Sophie at the baby shower.  I feel superior to all of you.

  • We got a Sophie and a Chan (mushroom that looks like a boob made by the Sophie people) as gifts. I wouldn't drop $20 on them...but say what you will, he loves the heck out of those damn things and gnaws on them vigorously.

  • Ethan is quite the fan of links as well. Best $4 I ever spent.

  • I shelled out for the Sophie. Dimi's mouth pretty much exploded with teeth and he already has some molars. I would try pretty much anything at that point.

But his favorite teether was a wooden Sassy toy I got off woot!.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman

We have that. Dan refers to it as the "daddywhacker" as he's been conked in the noggin by it more than a few times. Sean likes to flail with it, and it's pretty solid.
