Not to be a PW, but...
I got a graduate assistantship for the spring semester, which means that I don't have to pay $11,000 in tuition AND I get a stipend of $5,000! YAY!

OMG, AWESOME! That's freaking FANTASTIC - way to go!
I'm sure you've told us this before, but I don't remember - how much school do you have left?

haha I need you to psych me up everyday!
I have a year and a half left out of a 3 year program, so as of next thursday, I'm half way finished. My last year is writing a thesis though with one design studio and one or two electives, so it's completely different. If all goes well, hopefully this assistantship can be renewed next year!
Hahaha, well this is a big deal! School is crazy expensive, and to have that much covered is awesome! I was going to ask if you could get it renewed - it would be amazing to continue that kind of support all the way through your schooling!
Can you tell this issue really hits home with me since H is still in school? I'm going to ask if he can qualify for an assistantship in his program, hahaha! He'll probably think I've lost my mind...again!

What is he getting his degree in? A lot of grad schools offer assistantships in the form of teaching undergrad classes or running labs, etc.
my blog
Physical Education. It's his second bachelor's, and second bachelor's students at his school are usually an afterthought, so I don't think they have any options for him. He'll start student coaching in January and student teaching in fall of '11, so he's almost done. Woo!
Plus he's working in a closely related job...so I'll just pretend that's an assistantship, hahaha.
