Dagger has been sick for a couple of days with fever and just cough/congestion. Yesterday evening his fever spiked to almost 103. We had to take hijm to the pedi last night (thankfully they have emergency clinic on site with lab and xray). They had to cath him, give him an xray, draw blood and give injection antibiotic. He actually held up really well. Not me so much.
We went back today to follow up and get another injection.
They are not sure where the infection is coming from, but his white blood cell count is really high.
Re: Rough 24 hours
Bleh, I'm sorry Winger, that's really scary.
I suspect that it's a clinical cute overload. His body was like "There's just too much cute in here, this can't be right. Immune system, engage!"
It sounds like you have some good medical professionals taking care of business. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self soon. Sorry your last 48 hours have been the suck.
Uh, that's awful. But, it is awesome that your clinic is set up like that.
I hope it clears up quick! I prescribe a day full of mommy cuddles. Hang in there.
Vinny, it was one of the reasons we chose it. Any other office, we would have had to go to a hospital for all of those tests, especially at 8 in the evening. It was nice not to have to do that.
Thanks guys!
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
Thanks everybody.
Hopefully we will know something by Monday. They are doing a urine culture because they think it could be a UTI even though the urinalysis was not definitive. But since he has cough and congestion they cannot rule out something there either.

Geez, that sucks. Hope he gets better quickly.
I wonder what it is? Ben had a fever of 103.3 on Monday and also has a cough and congestion.
Did he have any other symptoms?
I hope he gets better quickly!
I hope he feels better soon Wanger.
Did the doc have any advice on keeping him calm? Bug always liked the vapobaths when she was congested.

mouse through this all he has been amazingly calm. he didn't even cry much when he was cathed.
He seems better today. Still has fever but not as high. He has diahrrea. That;s fun wuth cloth diapers...
Dude, have Mr Wanger run to the store for a small pack of disposables. You need your rest right now, not to be doing 42 loads laundry.
I'm glad the little guy's staying calm. He's just doing his best to keep his Mama and Daddy relaxed.
You have my Charmin. How appropriate...

Poor Dagger! I hope he's back at 100% soon. IDK about your area, but apparently there's an awful stomach virus going around all of the DCs in my area. They sent Miles home early on Friday and when my FIL went to pick him up, he was the last man standing. All of the other kids in his class (as well as all of their parents) had come down with a nasty virus that involved high fever + diarrhea.
I am starting to think the diahrrea was from yogurt that i introduced this weekend. he seems fine so far today. But I will find out about the stomach bug Nov, thanks for the heads up.
Poor little guy! I hope he is feeling better already. And I hope you're not surrounded by a mountain of poopy diapers.
The nerve!
