Just Married in NC

My husband and I just tied the knot on Oct 30th in the Wilmington area!  We just moved to NC last month.  Anyone have some suggestions about what to do in the area:  dinner, drinks, hot spots???  We'd love to know.

Re: Just Married in NC

  • Congratulations on your marriage!

Unfortunately I'm more inland than you, so I don't have any suggestions.  Dh and I try to go to a new restaurant each week--it helps us to explore our town/city/area more.

  • Congratulations!  I'm inland as well, but I grew up right outside of Wilmington.  I don't have a ton of recommendations, but brunch at the George on the riverfront is amazing :)

  • I live in Wilmington.  There are tons of great restaurants here, depending on what kind of food you like.  Downtown is always a good place to eat and it's also the place that has the most bars and general nightlife.

  • My husband and I just moved to NC this spring--just southeast of Raleigh. I would recommend a sushi place in North Hills. In fact, North Hills is a great area to walk, shop and eat. Even though I don't live in Raleigh (and don't work there yet) I joined a Meetup group to find out all there is to know about Raleigh and have been given a few other suggestions that I can't remember now, but will try to post soon.
  • Congratulations!! My husband and I live in Jacksonville, about an hour north of Wilmington.  If you love great steaks, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Wilmington is not only one of the best steakhouses in the area, but the country as well!! I'm partial to it not only because of their AMAZING steaks and extensive wine list, but that is also where we got engaged, so it's a really special place to me :) I'm pretty sure it's inside the Hilton hotel...it was my first time in Wilmington, and I was so stoked about getting engaged I don't quite remember the hotel it was in! Hope you enjoy it!!
