What conservative analysts/op-ed writers, etc should I read?
I have realized during this election that there is an abundance of conservative columnists that I have never read and maybe I should start paying attention to something other than Slate and MSNBC all time.
Of course, the only ones right now that seem to cross my screen are Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, and on TV - Mike Murphy...all of whom are the anti-Palin crowd.
Aside from Bill Kristol, who are the pro-Palin columnists that people respect? Or TV analysts? I'm not a radio listener.
And this election and endorsements aside, who should I add to my repetoire to make it more fair and balanced?
Re: What conservative analysts/op-ed writers, etc should I read?
No, I specifically would like to read some smart conservative pieces that are pro-Palin. Sorry, I thought I made that clear.
And beyond that, I'd like a couple conservative columnists, regardless of views on MPC, that I should start reading because people on here really respect them.
Sorry ESF I misread your OP.
I like George Will. He's on Townhall. Also, Thomas Sowell (National Review) is my favorite economist of all time, so he's one to check out. I don't regularly read any particular columnist though. I just go to National Review, Townhall, Human Events, & Heritage (sometimes Cato if I'm looking for a specific issues) and read whatever looks interesting on the homepage. I like Heritage the best b/c it's more research-based, not just an opinion. But You might prefer Townhall since it's a bunch of columns.
Ditto. He seems vicious and obsessive. I don't think he'll relax even if his choice gets in.
thanks for the Town Hall recs, caden. It looks like a conservative Slate, so I will have to check it out.
Deductive reasoning isn't a conservative or liberal attribute. ~epphd
I enjoy George Will quite a bit. He's terribly intelligent, although his baseball talk gets a bit tedious, and I've found only one issue on which I thought he was simply dead wrong. He always backs up his opinions with reasoned discussions, rather than highly emotive, arm-flapping, "why don't you idiots understand this?!?" hyperbole.
I used to enjoy David Brooks, but I wouldn't call him a conservative anymore.
The National Review online does a good job overall.
