Thanks to Punky and Rock for posting for me, and all you ladies for your well wishes!!
Jack was born on 11/23 at 8lbs 4oz. He's beautiful and healthy and happy, and my DH and I could not be more thrilled to have him here.
Labor was actually not nearly as bad as I always imagined it to be! My contractions became timeable at 2am, and my water broke around 4am. By 6:30, my contractions were 5 minutes apart for an hour (which is when they tell you to head to the hospital). I called the doctor and she told me to be at the hospital within an hour or two, but not to rush because first babies take a long time. We ended up in L&D by 8am, we walked and labored until 1pm then got an epidural.
Epidurals are AMAZING. After the epidural I was so comfortable that I slept from 1pm-5pm, only waking up to be checked by the doctor. I literally slept until the doctor said "You're 10 centimeters! It's time to push!"
I pushed for 2 hours, and Jack had made NO progress and was actually moving further from my pelvis. My doctor then decided it was time for a c-section. I won't get into the messy details of that, but it was NOT fun. I've been in the hospital ever since because the recovery time is much more significant, but we're finally heading home tomorrow. I'm so excited to be home and settle in.
Jack is perfect, but of course I think that! He's breastfeeding like a champ, and very alert when he's awake.
Here's a pic of the little man. We took it when he was exactly 24 hours old!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Re: Baby update! Birth story and PIP
He is just so, so precious.
Ha, when my anesthesiologist came in, I was shaking at that point. I said, "F*** you must be everyone's favorite person in this ward." He LOL and said, "Yep, pretty much!"
Oh he is adorable, Andrea! You and Punky with your too cute newborns--it's just not normal, I tell ya!
Sorry you ended up having to go the c-section route, but looks like Jack is happy and healthy so I just hope you heal up soon. More pictures when you can, please!
I know I am new to the board, but congratulations! He is just beautiful! Epidurals are a gift... I felt like a new woman after mine!
Congrats again!
