Do you send out Christmas cards?

If so do they have photos?  We have NEVER sent cards out, but this year we are.  It is a spoof though...we decked ourselves out in ridiculous Christmas stuff and made ourselves look 80's.  We had so much fun doing it....I actually can't wait to send them out!

Re: Do you send out Christmas cards?

  • Yes! and yes, they generally have a photo. Yours sound super fun!

This year we are just sending birth announcements. Those are expensive enough without adding an extra card!

  • I've sent out cards before (during high school and college). The year I got married, we sent out picture cards. That was in 2008. Haven't done it since; don't really plan on it.

Camedown, I love your picture idea!

  • Yes we (I) send cards.  The year we got married I made a picture card with one of our wedding photos.  No pictures since and probably not until we have kids.

  • I always send cards, probably way too many of them.  We've done photo cards once or twice, but when possible I prefer to do traditional cards with personalized messages in them.  It's one of the old-fashioned things I like to maintain.  Call it the English major or romantic in me--I've always appreciated getting (non-bill, non-junk) snail mail so once a year I take the time to do something tangible to show my friends and family that I'm thinking of them.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

I didn't know you were an English major!

  • I wanted to start once we got married, but we never got around to it. This year will be our first year, and it will have a picture (possibly, no probably, more than one).

  • This will be the first year we're sending out cards together, really because of the baby. Two pictures and a nice message. My husband gets a kick out of designing it himself with Vista Print.

I bet!  How could you choose just one photo!  Ha ha ha.  He is just too cute!

  • we send cards every year and never with a picture. i though about doing wedding pictures in our cards this year but our wedding was in june and we sent out thank you cards with pictures so it might be overkill. they'd all be going to the same people.

i wish i could get my cats to do something christmas-y so we could use pictures of them, but getting festive pictures of them together isn't so easy... unless they're sleeping.

    Yep :)  Why, were you?

And I finished my Christmas cards tonight--woohoo!  Ended up cutting a bunch of people I haven't talked to in a while, and DH has a handful left to do that he's responsible for, but, yeah, 98% done!

Nope.  I just thought for sure you were a business major.

This exactly! We've never done it before, but we'll do picture card this year with the baby. And we'll use vista print! I LOVE that website, my sister did my shower invites through them and I did my thank yous from them too.

No such practical majors where I went to school :)  I made up for it by running a small business while there.

  • Since we moved out here, we decided to do christmas cards to always keep in touch with our family and friends back in Miami, Fl and Atlanta, GA. We are going to do a photo but i am doing it for the first year so I hope it all works out!!

  • Yes I send out Christmas cards every year, but never with photos.  I thought about sending a picture this year of our house all decked out for Christmas, but I don't think it's worth the trouble.

I love getting Christmas cards in the mail and can't wait for ours to start arriving.  Usually the first ones come in this week.  I am hoping to have ours out by Friday.  I can't believe it is December 6 already!
