Poll - Blow Up Lawn "Ornaments"
Those huge decorations in front lawns across the country.

Re: Poll - Blow Up Lawn "Ornaments"
Okay, so I do think they are tacky, but I also feel like people have a right to do what they want with their lawn, as long as it doesn't negatively affect the lives of their neighbors. I mean, sure, the neighbors could hate it, but as long as the things are lit up and annoying in the middle of the night, I don't see the harm.
I grew up in a neighborhood where people did all kinds of crazy stuff with lawn ornaments around the holidays, including the infatable stuff, and I loved it. It's fun to see what people do.
Of course, where I grew up, there is a tradition of making snowmen out of tumbleweeds, but that's something else entirely.
Some are tacky, some a cute.
I would rather have something in my yard that lights up rather than being blown up. lol
1-2 depending on what they are, are ok. Beyond that, I think it starts to get a little much. I agree with Meghann though that everyone has a right to do what they want in their own yard as long as it doesn't interfere with the neighbors.
I like the wooden yard art things and signs that light up more though.

Tacky? Yes. Fun? Heck yes. We don't have any and probably won't - those suckers are expensive!
There is a couple that live down the street from my parents that have a big light up globe, and they put up a real live Santa that says "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!" like every 5 minutes. A little annoying, but it's festive!

Blowups are definitely tacky. To me, wire with lights or wooden cutouts with spotlights are more tasteful. A blowup or two could be fun, though still tacky. Filling your yard with them? Overkill.
I think they're tacky.
I feel like blow up should be designated to HUGE houses on HUGE properties so that you can see them from the road.
Your two bedroom 800sq ft rancher does not need an inflatable Santa, Snow Globe or Grinch.
Yeah, not really a fan.
Of course, in Mahwah, NJ, we have this house: http://www.williammaloney.com/Misc/Christmas/2004/ElvisHouseInMahwah/ElvisHouseCornerPan.htm
We go drive by it every year to see, and to hear the music being played over their external PA system. It requires roadblocks and police directing traffic, since it's a local Christmas attraction. I love bringing visitors who've never seen it.

Lol, no. It's a motorized mannequin. I think he moves too, like his arms move and his head turns from side to side. I guess "real live" was a little misleading.

I think they are an awful eye sore.
