question for costco peeps
I know that their return policy is really good... but what if you don't have a receipt? I have a can of formula that I want to take back, but my sister bought it and I don't have a receipt. We aren't going through it fast enough to need the big cans... Ella only gets one or 2 bottles of formula a day and right now I am freezing everything I pump because the can of formula has been open about a month and I don't want to throw it out, but I also don't want to open another big can if I don't have to.
Re: question for costco peeps
I would call and ask someone there. I've returned things but always have my receipt. Maybe they will just give you store credit???
That sucks. But what is the expiration date on the formula?? Maybe if they won't take it back it will still be good in a few months from now.
Also, did you know that once opened a can of formula is only good for 30 days.
If she isn't getting that much you might be better off buying the smaller cans of brand name formula so you are not wasting your money on the bigger cans that are going to go bad before she has even gone through it.
Well yes and no.
Yes it can be returned but I bet your sister has to do it because it was bought by her, on her membership...not yours (unless you share a membership).
You can return without a receipt but I would try to remember about when you bought it to make it easier to look up. They will go through your buying history and return it that way so no you don't need a receipt but you will prob need the membership it was bought under.
...that's why I want to take the big can back.
We do share a membership. Chase doesn't have a card, my sister has the secondary card on mine. I know pretty much exactly when it was bought, too... but it was bought in Arizona. Will that make a difference? Chase and I bought a can too, but it was sometime in August or September.
You can say it was the one you guys bought I doubt they would care. Honestly they are just making sure you did in fact buy it. haha
I've never had a problem returning anything and I've seen people abuse the system...(like bringin back USED pots and pans...like two years later) and getting refunds.
someone DH and I knew in LA used to get a laptop...use it until the exchange period ended (this was before they switched it to 90 days it used to be like 1 - 1 1/2 years) and then he would return it and get a new one.
ETA: You can always call and explain and see what they say like pp said
