Re: Wedding registry questions
My dishes: I registered for these beautiful pottery barn dishes and got a whole set- but I had to return them b/c they didnt fit in my cabinets- so i bought a different line with the credit I had and the dishes I bought are awful- they are almost all chipped ...I should have just got some good ol' corelle...LOL
I should have registered for a kitchen aid mixer...
I would have liked to have gotten the attachments to the kitchen aid. I love my kitchen aid but another bowl and more attachments would be nice. Having to clean the bowl to use it a second time is a bit of a pain since I only have one bowl and 1 set of attachments.
I love my kitchen aid and my george foreman oven. The oven is great for small batches and it's wonderful in the summer when you want to make something but not heat up your big oven in order to cook something.
I don't like our everyday plates. They are a beautiful color and the shape is great but they are chipping like crazy. Reviews didn't say anything about this when we registered but I still am upset over it.
I wish we had registered for a better waffle maker. Ours is fine but takes forever to heat up and just doesn't do well for our big morning breakfasts.
I love our pots and pans. and our fine china. My 2 fav gifts off the registry.
I got a Kitchen Aid
I had been coveting my mom's for years, so I made sure I had it on there, if for nothing else than the completion discount.
Looking back, I would have registered for the dishes I really wanted instead of the ones we got. They're Pfaltzgraff and durable, but I just find them to be blah. There were some others I really liked, but didn't go for them because they were a little more expensive.
Anything we registered for that we really wanted, we were lucky enough to get. Since we aren't really using everything yet, I can't say there is anything that I would re-think (yet).
We didn't register for china, which I am happy about. And my Mom ended up giving me theirs anyways because she took her Mother's.
The item I didnt get (but was on my registry) that I wish I got was a Dyson vaccuum - I have a dog, and Id really like a better way to suck up all the lab hair!
I wish I registered for more kitchen utensils - cheese grater, potato peeler, etc - i have cheap ones now, and usually replace with other cheap ones.. I wish I had something good!
I can't count the # of things we registered for and got that I wish we didn't- my DH was adding all sorts of crazy things online that I would see and go - what?? I think he got more into registering than I did.
The biggest space hog is the George Foreman "next grill-r-ation" Seriously? We eat mainly veggie- and we have a great gas grill outside anyway.
What I wish I would've registered for? A food processor- it's a bigger ticket item that we bought ourselves and I literally use it all of the time.
We already had a lot of the usual things couples register for (fine china, kitchen aide, etc). However, the Bullet mixer that K got is great. She uses it every day to make a smoothie. It's hands down the most used item. I was also really happy about the bath towels we got.
Item we don't use....I don't know....I'll think about it.....
Me too! And we even have those lids that snap to the bottom of the containers...it's still a nightmare!
I use my Kitchen-aid multiple times per week and am SO GLAD that we registered for this and DH convinced his mom that it was the #1 item I needed.
Although we haven't had much use for it yet (parents are still hosting the big holiday meals as our house is too small), I wish we had registered for 12 place settings of our china. I LOVE the pattern we chose, but DH only wanted to ask for 8 settings so we didn't "seem greedy". Now, even if we just hosted our immediate family (his parents, my parents, my sis/her boyfriend, + 3 kids) we don't have enough.
