So I just called my doctor's office to try and get an appointment for DH. He isn't a current patient (he hasn't gotten a new doctor since we moved), and they told me that it'd be until FEBRUARY before he can get an appointment. Cheese and effing rice. I find it interesting that my doctor told me that if I need anything I can get an appointment with him or a PA within a day, but try to get a new patient in is ridiculous. I'd think getting a 25yr old would be a good have as a new patient seeing as they'd be needing your services for, oh another 25 years at least? I don't understand why it takes so long to get an appointment for a new patient. I never had this problem in Greensboro.
Re: Cheese and Rice
That definitely stinks--and is weird. Yes, I do think it should be easier to get a new patient appointment. I've never understood why it's so hard to do so.
Did you ask if you could get him on a cancellation list? That might help.
FEBRUARY?! Geez... sounds like a rock star doctor. Every time I've ever switched doctors it has taken maybe two weeks... tops.
