favorite Christmas munchies

We're starting a Christmas morning at our own house tradition this year, so the family is coming to us for the first time. I'm thinking instead of a big meal, I'll just make a bunch of different snack foods that can sit out all day, so people can graze at will.

What are some of your favorites?

Re: favorite Christmas munchies

  • summersausage/cheese/crackers

    fruit/veggie tray

corned beef/cream cheese rolls, with or without pickle inside

     devilled eggs

    teenie weenies in bbq sauce

chips with dips (artichoke or buffalo chicken dips are my favorites

    shrimp cocktail

essentially very basic finger foods that require little actual prep are what i gravitate to on a buffet table.

  • Pizza frites (fried pizza dough in the shape of a mini donut) - put out a bowl of sugar for dipping.  We make these as a side for our oily fish dinner on Christmas Eve, but I love to have the leftovers on Christmas morning.

  • Homemade Chex Mix,

really thin sugar cookies (my grandmother is the only one who can get them thin enough--cracker thin)

    Clementines

    nuts

this garlic cheese spread my mother makes

    quiche

    deviled eggs

  • Shrimp, beer cheese, jalape?o popper dip, my moms cheese bake (4 kinds of cheese, mayo, in a crescent roll crust), spiced nuts, Christmas wings(Ginger and soy glazed wings), cookie tray, crab bites (crab spread on English muffins, baked)

  • Homemade Chex Mix is the treat I look forward to every year.  My mom's cheese ball.  The peanut butter blossom cookies with Hershey's Kiss in the middle.

  • Shrimp cocktail

    Scallops wrapped in bacon

    Brie

    Gravlax

  • This artichoke dip gets devoured every time I make it. I use a number of the modifications suggested in the comments, so let me know if you make it and I can tell you what I do differently.

What about those prosciutto dijon puffs everyone on here makes? I made those (plus a vegetarian version) for a baby shower and people snarfed them down.

I made a spicy white bean chili with cauliflower in the slow cooker for our Halloween party, and I'm going to make it again for a game night we are having before Christmas. It was SO good. I found two of my friends looking through my vegetarian slow cooker cookbook trying to find the recipe. Ha! Let me know if you would like the recipe.
