Specifically Gap pants. I used to swear by their jeans. They were the only ones that fit. But, in the past 6 months, two pairs have ripped in really, really weird places - places that can only be accounted for by poor material quality. I bought a pair of cords there in October, and all the fuzz has worn off! They're totally smooth. Ridiculous!
So now I need to go pants shopping (which I hate) this week in the search of new jeans (ugh, double hate). Brands? Shops I should try? I have a pair of Banana Republic jeans, but a) they constantly chafe me and b) they're owned by Gap and I'm mistrustful.
Re: I hate pants
I love JCrew's skinny cords, the quality was fantastic on my last pair. I don't have any of their jeans, but I assume they are of similar high quality.
What is your price point for jeans? I loooove Paige Premium.
Well, they're also owned by Gap, but Old Navy jeans are my go to jeans. The Sweetheart and the Dreamer are my favorites (no waistband gap *and* they fit at the hips, which was always my biggest problem). I've had my oldest pair for about two years without a problem. For what it's worth, Gap has always been my least favorite of all three stores because it always seemed that quality was poor and nothing ever fit right.
Before these jeans, Levi's 525s were my favorite (they're out there somewhere, but nowhere near me, it seems). I love how Lucky Brand jeans fit on me, but I've never owned a pair--I just can't justify spending that much on a pair of jeans.
I think it's a sign that I've been in the UK too long when I immediately thought when I read the title that you were talking about underwear, and that this post was going to take a totally different direction?
Anyway, that sucks. I hate it when your go-to stores disappoint and you have to find something new. I love Seven for all Mankind for jeans now. When I lived in Toronto, I used to get most of my jeans at Winners, no brand in particular.

I *hate* winners! Everything I buy there falls apart on me. I just bought leather gloves there two weeks ago and the stitching has already come undone. Eurgh.
FWIW, after wasting all this money on jeans that fall apart on me, I'm happy spending more on a decent quality pair. I wonder where I could check out Seven for all mankind in Toronto... Holts maybe?

That sucks about Winners. I still have some items that I bought there years ago. I guess it's hit or miss.
I haven't been in Holts in years, but I would think they should have some good brands. I also like Citizens for Humanity when I tried them on recently.

I have to admit, I was thinking this was going to be a half naked type post. I generally take off my pants when I get home and don't put anything back on unless it's super cold in my house. haha!
I agree that Gap jeans suck. I have a pair that I keep mending, but I think it's time to just chuck them. I have a pair of Lucky jeans that are holding up really well. I did manage to rip a belt loop off, but that's because I pull my pants up that way. Plus, the mid rise is great for flattering your waist (not that you have that problem pretty lady).
