New Traditions?
Since this will be our first Christmas/Holiday as husband and wife, will anyone be starting any new traditions?
Not sure if it's really a new tradition, but Richard and I decided that we're going to open our gifts at home just the two of us. We're going to spike the egg nog and open gifts first thing Christmas morning.
I also want to take video of each Christmas (and other holidays) from here on out. Our camcorder is ancient so we really don't use it much, but he bought a USB camcorder on Black Friday so it will come in handy. I feel as though passes so fast that I want to remember all of the special moments.
Anyone else?
Re: New Traditions?
I have no idea what we're doing for Christmas yet. I don't think we're going anywhere because H's parents are in the process of moving and I doubt my mom will host anything.
There are some things we've done since our first Christmas together...getting the tree on Black Friday, Christmas music only every time we're in the car, watching the Grinch (both versions) and opening the stocking gifts last.

IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Last year we went to Midnight Mass which is something I've always done with my family and plan on continuing and Jeremy is good with it. We'll be at my parents again this year so we'll go to Midnight Mass with them and then do Christmas with them this year too. We'll probably keep doing that until we have kids of our own or move too far away to travel. It just makes the most sense since his parents suck and do nothing.

This is our 4th holiday season living together. We started traditions that first year and they've stuck so we just stick with them.
Since both of us are the product of divorce, we usually have a lot of people to see and places to go, so it was important for us to make some time for just us. Every year on x-mas eve we are at DH's aunt's. Then we go home from there and we "open" our stockings together that night. (We know, we can't do this once we have kids
) It's silly but it's also a way to get out of staying for 12 hours at his aunt's house. Most years, we also get together with our friends after we open stockings. (But living in Wisconsin, that depends upon the weather and if we can make it anywhere)
Disclaimer: We love his family, they are great, but we can only handle so much.
We also buy a special ornament each year that has the year on it somewhere. So when we're 88 years old we can look back at those ornaments and remember when we got them and that year we were together.
This tradition started last year for us and I don't know how long it will last. Going to Orlando and seeing the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics play. So this tradition will only last as long as the scheduling gods let it. I guess we could always just go to the Magic game if they are home on Xmas day even if they aren't playing the Celtics..
