**Angela, Stef...other Fage fans***

What do you mix in your yogurt? I know you've been adding some canned pumpkin lately, I'm not a huge pumpkin fan, but I'm going to try it tomorrow morning, but I need some other ideas...something with fiber would be good since it doesn't have any. Today I just put in 1 T of sugar free jam. It's fine, but I'm sure I could add something with more nutritional value.

Any thoughts? TIA

  • I like mixing in granola & a little honey, so maybe some kind of fiber cereal like with bran, etc. ?

  • My non-Fall daily breakfast is Fage with E.D. Smith Cherries n' Berries preserves in it (here's a link on why this stuff is kind of the bomb: http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1027138,1027479).  I then add(depending on availability/seasonality) blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc - berries are a decent source of Fiber...and 1 oz Kashi GoLean Crunch (fiber and protein).

    For Fall, I've been living off of Angela's pumpkin parfait creation (although, gotta admit - I don't make it all pretty like she did for her blog ;)).  The pumpkin is a great source of fiber, and the brown sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice make it scrumptious.  And I also add that 1 oz Kashi (more fiber, plus more protein).

    I've eaten one of these two creations for breakfast almost every day for a year...I'm obsessed ;)

  • I am another Fage lover (Costco has them!!)

    I add various things:

    pomegranate seeds

    homemade granola

    almonds

    dried cranberries

    walnuts

    some agave nectar

    Thanks, Stef - I'm going to check that out. And of course! Kashi - why didn't I think of that? I'm going to give the pumpkin creation a try tomorrow morning: I've got a long morning of hearings in a hospital so I wont have time for snacks or lunch until about 2 or3 so hopefully the added protein and fiber will keep me going.

    This is what I do with mine for the most part as well. Yogurt/berries/kashi or yogurt/pumpkin/kashi. Sometimes, when I'm feeling like something different (here's a new one for you, Stef!) I do some crushed pineapple and a drop or 2 of coconut flavor and make a 'pina colada' yogurt. YUMM!!!  

    Stef - I confess... I only did it this way once. For the blog. :D  My usual mix it up and glob it in a bowl doesn't make for very pretty blog pictures. haha!!!

  • I like adding the granola/flax/pumpkin seed cereal they sell at Costco to any of my yogurts for breakfast.  Love the taste and texture of it.  I'll also throw in some berries if I have 'em on hand.
