Does anyone else think this is a little strange?

I have seen a handful of status updates on FB that say:

I am sending out Christmas cards.  If you want one, send me your address.

Typically, I already know who I am sending a card too and then I get their address if I don't already have it.  It seems like people are saying "I don't care who gets 'em as long as I don't have to work at making a list and finding address."

 Maybe that's just me.  Thoughts?

Re: Does anyone else think this is a little strange?

  • I actually got an email like this earlier that was sent to me and a few other people.  I think it's more of a "don't be offended if you didn't get a card, because this is me asking for your address" kinda thing.  But that's something I worry about every year so it could just be me.  :)

  • I would almost feel weird responding... Yes please, send me a card. I am worth the money and time.

  • I think it's pretty rude actually. I make the time to sit down and make a list of everyone I'd like to send a card to, and if I don't have their address then I ask. It's the thoughtfulness that makes it part of the Christmas spirit to me, and doing a FB post like that isn't thoughtful at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was kinda rude...
