You think you know someone.....
So I'm sure you girls remember the incident with my BM that stole money from me the day before my wedding.
Well now we have a new situation with a good friend and it's really weighing on me today. This is not related to us directly. One of DH's teammates was arrested a few weeks ago for hostage/kidnapping and aggravated assault. He was released on bail and is due in court next week. Well over the weekend he was arrested again on 10 new charges. He is now in jail without bail until his next hearing, tomorrow. Here is more detail.
DH and I are both in shock. The night the first incident took place the teammate was supposed to go out to dinner with a group of us and his girlfriend but cancelled because he was busy. We know him quite well and DH has hung out with him outside of football a lot. We are really saddened and surprised by these events. I think it's obvious he is involved in something pretty serious and it will only be a matter of time until the team releases him. I just feel like here is another person we thought "we knew", this whole thing has taken me by surprise. It makes me really sad.

Sorry to hear about this Em! We've had a few experiences where we thought we knew someone and then something happened (most recently with the embezzling by my sorority's advisor).
Hopefully you'll find out soon what is really going on. I'd definitely be calling up his girlfriend, too. Hopefully she's had nothing to do with all of this but I'm sure her world has been flipped upside-down and who knows if she's suffered from him in the past in any way.

Wow, I am so sorry that you had to deal with that. I hope you learn what is going on and that his girlfriend is ok.
I can only imagine how stressful that must be for his team.
