I'm doing to DD this in just a minute.
With my boobs and this whole pregnancy, baby thing.
Where the heck is the milk going to come out of?
Yes, I realize the nipple.
But I don't have any holes in my nipples (I've inspected them)
Will one form?
Will many form?
Are there microscopic holes I cant see all over the places? Areola???
I need some explanations, but please no graphic images or visual aids.

That must be the case. You just secrete the milk, like you do sweat from your pores.
I have had milk spot out on my areolas before. Effing weird.
I think it was a legitimate question.
Bottle nipples have holes in them.
I've milked a cow a few times, and they have a definite hole and steady stream of milk.
I inspected my nipples and found no holes. I was perplexed!

I have a steady stream in the mornings numerous times.. At times she's moved her head away because she can't keep up with the stream... I've hit her in the face with it and twice at church I've created a puddle on the floor (which I cleaned up). I swear, I am never going to learn to keep a burp cloth on me when I'm nursing.
I totally checked my nipples out numerous times while pg...even before I was pg. This was something I wanted to know for years. I don't blame you!
You've nursed in church or just leaked a puddle?
Was this a one off situation, or just happens to happen during a regularly scheduled meal time?
Public breastfeeding doesn't bother me, I'm just curious.
Any old ladies shoot you stink eye from across the aisle?

It was in the family restroom at church. I wiped it up.
During a regular feeding time, for the most part. We live 45 minutes from church and I'm still trying to figure out the timing so I don't have to get up in the middle of the sermon to go feed her. This last week we got to church 15 minutes early and I fed her before we started- it worked perfectly.
DH would freak out if I fed her in church. I can't really feed her publicly anyway- she despises being underneath a blanket and won't latch if she's covered up.
If you're wondering why I don't have a bottle it's because that hungry little monster eats 16 oz a day at daycare and it's all I can do to keep up with pumping enough for her to eat that much during the week. Plus it only takes her 5-10 minutes to eat, so really I just prefer to give her the boob.
Milk will come out of the center of your nipple. I can squeeze mine and see colostrum (sp?) come out.
It's fun! NOT. I'm not going to BF, it freaks me out. More power to those of you who plan on doing so or already do. lol
My nips started leaking like week 20, maybe even before that. I would wake up in the mornings with crusty nips and spots all over the sheets. H was so scared for the longest time to play with the girls for fear that he would be leaked on or get a taste of the stuff. haha
Valid question. I always assumed that it would be like one single hole in the center, but I watched while I was pumping, and it comes out of multiple places at once. It kind of freaked me out. Mine was never a steady stream, though, more like a trickle or single drops at a time. But I think that's because I didn't produce well.
ETA: Also, your nipples will change a lot before the end of pregnancy.
ETA #2: it was meant to be "didn't" in the last sentence, not "did."
Will they go back to normal? This has me super freaked out. I've seen pregnant pornos in the stores. The covers have shocked me into blindness.
Will I ever get my cute nipples back?
So far, not quite. They aren't as scary as they were, but they did shrink after my milk dried up. I can't say they're back to normal though. I'm not even sure I remember anymore how they looked before I got pregnant.
I have no idea what mine looked like pre-pg, but I can tell you they went back to their original color. During pg they got SO dark...I am really fair skinned and they did NOT match the rest of my body. Super weird.
I rarely leaked colostrum. I could express it if I wanted, but it came out on its own maybe twice.

melissa, i'm shocked it only takes May 5-10 minutes to eat. is that a normal amount of time? do you feel weird pumping at work? i think that's going to be my issue... (assuming BF works)
I just have to add to the nipple changes....
I have really tiny nipples. Were talking dime size here. Mine didn't get bigger areola wise but they got longer. That went back to normal but they got dark. Like dark brown and have not gone back to their pinkish color. IDK if that's normal but there ya have it!
