  • Just wait 'til they get to Mark Twain.

  • Oh, I'm sure Twain won't be required reading in his homeschool curriculum!

  • People are freaks.  Homeschooling by those parents won't help him for the real world.  Maybe that book would help him.
  • Wait, why is a drug test offensive in any context?  Is it b/c the author questions the purpose and says the main goal is to force a general sense of submission to the employer?

  • The hilarious part is that I think she needed the drug test to work at WALMART. HELLO.

If I was the parent of a 16 year old, I'd be *thrilled* that A) their school had a required personal finance course, and B) that a book about wage disparity and "making it in America" was required reading. Good grief.

  • Yeah, heavens forbid we should try to show children another view of life and expand their worldview.
  • My children will be to good to know about poor people.

Seriously though, isn't different opinions and views everything we stand for. So you don't agree with the book. I don't agree with the new testament...

  • If your beliefs are that strong, they ought to be able to withstand reading a few comments you don't agree with. In fact, I don't think you can solidify what you believe on any topic without researching some of the opposing views.
