I also follow WW.. last week there were too many parties with alcohol where I then ate over my daily points and didn't go to a meeting. I do have WW on my phone though and it's made the switch to the new program. It seems okay so far.. I get point value shock a lot. My bread is 5 points for 2 slices! That's crazy!! Also - my yogurt is 4 points! I guess that's why we got more points per day!

I'm anxious to get to my meeting on Friday so I can get all the papers to read on my own!

How is it going for you?

  • How do you get WW on your phone?  Is there an app for that?

I signed up for the monthly pass which gives you access to etools and you can access your etools on your phone. I think it works best with a Blackberry and the iPhone. My friend had a PalmPre and said it was tough to use because it wasn't formatted for her screen so she had to do a lot of zooming and scrolling.

  • Ah.  I was really hoping there was an app that I could get so I wouldn't have to buy the whole program...I know I wouldn't stick with it but am curious about the whole points thing.  I feel that might be easier than trying to count calories (which I totally don't do).

  • Wait until there is free registration and go for a meeting and get all the info and after the meeting stick around for the introduction to the program and do it on your own. A weekly fee here is $12.

There is usually free registration after the new year..

  • How much is registration normally?

And as sad as it sounds, I can't afford $48 a month for weekly stuff.

  • I'm not sure how much reg. costs. I signed up for the montly pass and pay $39. It's an auto-debit program and gives you access to the etools and all kinds of fun stuff on the internet.  I just checked out weightwatchers.com but can't actually find an amount for the registration fee.

If you feel confident that you can do it on your own (with the support of Gold and me!) just go for one week and get all the information and then try it on your own for a while.

  • Hey Meg,

I'm having a hard time adjusting to the new system. Mainly b/c I have to look everything up again. Also, for some reason I've been eating a lot this week, even with my point increase (22 to 29) I'm going into my extra weekly points. I need to stock more 'snacky' fruits and veggies in our fridge. I'm either going to weigh in tonight or Thurs (my regular meeting was canceled this week), so we'll see how successful I really was.

What kind of bread and yogurt are you eating? That seems really high. I'm also using e-tools and it makes life so much easier. I don't have a smart phone, but being able to type things in to look up instead of flipping through a book is great. I also love the recipe builder.

    GL!

  • I have whole wheat extra fiber bread and Yoplait yogurt. The yogurt is not entirely fat free but I am trying to cut out artificial sweeteners. So I am sucking it up and eating the yogurt with higher points since it is free of Aspertame (sp?). My friend told me there is no slider.. That makes it tough too. I had a slider everywhere! (2 in my kitchen, one at work, one in my purse). Can't wait to go to the meeting! Good luck at your weigh in!!

Crazy bread and yogurt! I recently bought some fiber one yogurt I haven't even checked the points on that yet. Haven't been eating much bread lately just b/c I've been taking leftovers for lunches.

They're selling the new points calculators for half price since they're not using sliders anymore. Since you have the etools and a smartphone you could just use that.
