How's your holiday shopping going?

Just wondering if I'm on par with my shopping... I'm 50% done shopping and 15% done baking.  I keep trying to buy presents that I had decided on, only to find that they are now sold out or not availible in the size I had planned on, so now I have to figure out all new pressents for people...

Re: How's your holiday shopping going?

  • I'm about 80% done with my shopping I think. We're getting my FIL a subscription to Food Network magazine and I'm just waiting until like right before Christmas to order it, because I don't want it to arrive before Christmas. We also got him a book on food excursions in Florence, because he & MIL are going to Italy next year. I'm going to pick up the Dec. issue of FN magazine and wrap it with the book.

I have to get Ted's present still & his stocking stuff.

I have no idea if I'm doing any Christmas baking. I assume I'll make a pie or something for dinner, but other then that idk.

  • I wish I had time to bake! I actually knocked out a ton of gifts over the weekend... Thanks to the Internet! I'm still stuck on dad and FIL... And my gma......... Hopefully I'll think of something within the next few days. It's killing me waiting for everything to be delivered. I have all my wrapping paper just sitting there... Lol :)
  • I am mostly done.  I need to send out my Christmas Cards and get our parents stuff and the kids stuff.  I do fear that the things won't get there in time.  :(

  • I've been done shopping since this weekend.  Most of my stuff I got for free by doing reviews for my blog and the rest I rounded out doing online shopping on Black Friday.  Then my nephew's gift had to be returned so I had to find him something.  Thank goodness for The Mini Social and the Melissa and Doug sale!
  • I think I'm just about finished shopping.  Only need to order a few pictures from mpix for our parents.  I NEVER get finished shopping this early so I'm excited I'm almost done!   I haven't started baking yet.  I'll probably wait another week or so before I start that.

  • Can I just say I have honestly not started shopping yet?!?  Now that I've finished my final and graduating tomorrow maybe I can now focus on shopping for everyone! I am jealous of you who are almost finished shopping.

  • Not only have I not started but I really haven't even thought about what to get people :( I did buy DH a pair of pants but that's only because I was online for myself and needed to spend a little more to get free shipping.
  • Pretty good I think.  I am done Aislyn.  I have only DH stocking.  We have to pick up a gift card for a SS.  DH has his mothers stocking left.  I have to go to BRU to get a few small gag gifts for a dad-to-be for DH boys' xmas party this weekend.  We need to get 2 bottles of alcohol for people and I am doing a lottery subscription for my parents but am waiting to close to Xmas for that.

  • I just started today (had to wait for payday Stick out tongue) I ordered some stuff online. I have Wednesday off so I'm going to go bust out some more. On the 19th DH and I are going to go to downtown Portland and do some shopping at Saturday Market (it's like a craft market) and wander around because I love going downtown during Christmas time.

I pretty much know what I'm getting everyone I just have to go pick it up. I've always been a last minute shopper so I'm sure I'll be out on the 23rd or 24th still looking for stuff Wink

  • I don't have 1 gift bought...I really don't have any ideas either.  I'm extremely worried about it this year.  I got a new job and they have me starting on the 20th...right before the holiday...and the week I was originally planning on taking off to get everything done.  I've woke up in the middle of the night worried about it actually.  But I can't do anything about it due to our funds (or lack there of).  We get paid on the 22nd so somehow, some way I will find a way!  Too bad my new job is an hour's drive...1 way, without traffic.

:::It will all work out...it will all work out::: (and repeat!)

  • I'm about 80% done as well!  I have my son and his GF and my youngest daughter to buy for still.  As well as Bri's grandsons.  Three of them.

I've been a little busy, but this next week will be crunch time for me!!!

  • I'm done with everything I can do now.  The only things I have left to buy, I won't buy until a day or two before Christmas when I'm in Chicago with my brother.  I'm very proud of myself this year lol!
