Ok, it's baby related AND christmas related. Thats right, I'm multitasking here!
So I was hoping to get Damian tickets to see Christmas Carol at Fords Theater, it's his favorite christmas story, and he's a huge history buff. So that would be a perfect Christmas present. Unfortunately they're sold out.... My mom's supposed to physically stop by the theater tomorrow to see if they may be holding onto any tickets, as they sometimes do that.
So the Anatomy scan/sex reveal at my OB's is done around 20 weeks. Which would put us a couple weeks into January. I found an elective ultrasound place nearby that will do a 2d 10 minute ultrasound, tell you the gender (as early as 16 weeks), and give you 4 pictures for $99. Which is waayyy cheaper than the tickets would be. We haven't seen Baby Mo since 12.5 weeks. And it's been consistently measuring half a week ahead.
So I'm thinking maybe I should pay for the elective ultrasound and have us go a couple days before Christmas, and an early Christmas present for Damian. He's dying to know. Plus then we can tell the family on Christmas too, so it's like a quadruple (sp?) present. I'll be 17.5 weeks at that time, and if B.Mo is still measuring ahead it'll measure at 18 weeks so it'll be in the 18-20 week window I've been reading about online...
What do you think? Would the early "lets find out your babys sex" christmas present be a good one?

I did think about that baby might not cooperate, and if it doesn't thats ok, at least we'd get to see him before Christmas. And we'd find out 3 weeks later. Im just thinking it may be a nice gift to Dh to find out for Christmas (plus I'd schedule it to be done on his birthday the 22nd) and then he could tell our families for Christmas too. Which is what he really wanted to do this year...

How far along will you be at the appointment? I only ask b/c there are a couple ladies on MM who said they were told one thing when they snuck in a quickie look at 17 weeks only to have it change at 20 b/c the babies are still developing.

My mom was able to get tickets, the seats are one in front of the other, instead of next to eachother. So the ticket seller gave her a huge discount. Rows E and F for $120ish. I'm excited! But theres another $150 I had budgeted for it that isn't being spent, so I'm going to do both!
The sex scan is scheduled for the 19th! I can't wait to tell him!! I'll be 17 weeks, so Baby Mo should be measuring around 17.5, they said the can do it as early as 16 weeks, but I'd rather wait and do it closer to Christmas. Then we have the anatomy scan in the middle of January, so we'll "double check" there to make sure it wasn't wrong. And they'll send us home with pictures (proof) of whatever genitalia the baby has.
Rebek -- I keep saying boy, but I'm secretly hoping to girl. MIL and FIL and never had a baby girl to spoil, and I think it would be great if we could give them their first. Plus I want to buy big bows to put in her hair..
