SO sad. My DH was just telling, last night, that her cancer had spread and that they weren't going to give her more treatment.

Yeah, this morning on the news they were reporting that she "has a few final weeks." I wonder if the end came more quickly than expected. If so, what a horrible thing for her family to have to experience.

That is so sad. I always thought she was such a strong and classy woman for all that she went through and having dealt with it so bravely.

It's heartbreaking, I lost my mom when she was 62 just 2 years ago on December 4th. Elizabeth Edwards has small children that must be devastated to say the least. Poor thing went through so much in the past 6 years with John and his affair. I pray that she is in peace now and no more pain.

Yeah, this is really sad. She had an 11 year old son and a 13 yr old girl. My bros were just out of high school when my dad died of pancreatic cancer, my parents had just split and my mom remarried very quickly. That isn't even the same as what they're going through with their father's infidelity that the whole world knows about. She was a really inspirational person who definitely made lemonade out of lemons.

i just talked to my mom about this today. she's a little freaked out by this since they were diagnosed with the same kind of cancer in the same month. (my mom and elizabeth edwards) so she's freaking out. they also had the same course of treatment. only difference is... my mom (knocking on wood, crossing fingers, throwing salt over my shoulder whatever you can think of to make this not come true) hasn't had a relapse. she's been cancer free since she finished chemo. so same diagnosis... different prognosis.
