Odd Christmas gift question- Moisturizer

My SIL would like a good face moisturizer for Christmas. She has very sensitive skin and would like something without a lot of chemicals/ingredients in it.

I'm looking for something under $20, any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

Re: Odd Christmas gift question- Moisturizer

  • I have super sensitive skin as well and have had good luck with the Oil of Olay for sensitive skin moisturizer.  It is easy to get anywhere if she likes it, it goes on nicely, has sunscreen in it, and I want to say it is $15.00 or so.
  • This one from Key's is $25 but you pretty much can't get more chemical free.  http://www.natureofbeauty.com/keys-luminos-moisturizer.html.  My skin is sensitive and very dry and this stuff is awesome.

I've also used and liked Logona Rose Day Cream but it isn't moisturizing enough in the winter for my skin (really, mine is super dry). http://www.natureofbeauty.com/product.php?productid=1231&cat=95&page=2

The store I linked to is local so you could always stop in and see what else they have.  They only carry organic and/or natural products.

  • Aveeno is pretty gentle.

Awesome.  I'm responding in this thread so I can come back and make note of that store.

    Thanks jennyk!  Again!  :-)

  • I would give something from the local store PP suggested or a dept store type brand...I think it would be odd to receive drugstore moisturizer as a gift.

I like Philosophy Hope in a Jar, but I'm not sure how organic/natural it is.

I have extremely sensitive skin use Olay too. I think it's even less than $15, I was thinking it was more like $10.

I tried the Aveeno equivalent about a year ago, and it gave me a rash. I have had allergic reactions to so many cosmetics and toiletries, I no longer try anything new. I now stick to the stuff I know I won't react to - and Olay for sensitive skin works for me.

I agree with this.  Clinique has a lot of facial moisturizers around $20 and many are good for sensitive skin.  Otherwise, if you are part of Sephora's Beauty Insider program, they're sending out $15 gift cards right now, so you may be able to get a more expensive moisturizer for less.

  • Thank you all for the suggestions, I also agree about the drugstore type moisturizers being a bit odd for a gift. I can always just suggest those to her if I don't find anything. I'm off to research your suggestions!

  • Aveda just reformulated and re-released their All-Sensitive line, including their All-Sensitive Moisturizer.  And no, it's not weird - I buy my family beauty products all the time for holidays :-)

Before my sister moved she worked at Regis Corp., all of our holiday/birthday gifts were beauty products and I loved it! It's been weird to have to buy things for myself now that she's gone!
