Holiday Baking POLL (& a Question)

Is anyone baking anything sweet this holiday season? I almost always make peppermint bark and white trash.

I was thinking of trying out some holiday cupcakes (maybe w/ peppermint extract or something). Anyone have any good recipes?

  • I plan on doing the Peppermint Bark as well - it was a huge hit here at work.  IDK about using peppermint in cupcakes - I dont see why it couldnt hurt to try?  Maybe add it to the frosting instead of the batter?  BTW I use Betty Crocker to make cupcakes so I have nothing - LOL

  • I'm probably going to bake some cookies for my coworkers.  I'm thinking Oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip cookie cups and maybe sugar cookies.  All my coworkers are from China and don't bake much, so I thought it'd be a nice Christmas present!
  • I always bake holiday treats!  It's a good gift for people that you don't really know well.

Unfortunately I don't have any recipes for a holiday cupcake, but I have made a peppermint flavored cake before (my office knows of it as my $40 cake because the ingredients were so expensive/random that it cost me approximately $40 to make the first one.  Stick out tongue)  It's effing GOOD though, and I bet you could modify it a bit to work for cuppy cakes.  (I'll see if I can find the recipe.)  No dice on finding online.  I'll try and bring it in tomorrow for you.

    Oh, cool! Thanks, Derky!

  • I have to make a dessert for Christmas Eve brunch so I tested Pumpkin Butterscotch Blondies over the weekend. I really liked them, but DH doesn't like butterscotch very much. I'm testing a chocolate cake this weekend.
