Gift-giving

What are you all getting your hubby's for x-mas? Something big? Something small? nothing at all?

I got Jim some comfy slippers, a "shirt jacket" for work, some flannel pjs so far. I am playing around with the idea of surprising him with a Flat Screen LCD with HD - we watch ALOT of sports on TV.  But I cant bring my self to spend 600 bucks on a TV! LOL

Re: Gift-giving

  • He's getting clothes and some gift cards because he doesn't know what he wants.
  • He's getting a dress coat for work, a PS3 game, a wheel accessory for the game (I can't believe I got him that), cologne, a few shirts and maybe a couple other stocking stuffers.  He is definitely who I'm spending the most on this year.

  • I got J a small guitar amp that he wanted.  And it came to the house, in the original box, on a day that I got home late.  Soooo, it was Merry Christmas early, haha.

I will still get him some smaller "stocking stuffer" type things like maybe a blu-ray, candy, etc.

  • We decided this year to just do stockings for each other.  After the wedding and honeymoon and with all of the house projects we need to do we didn't really want to or need to spend a lot on each other.

So I got Ken smaller things like a book, a DVD, cell phone accessories, some tools etc.  Little things that will add up but no one big gift.

  • Our gift was our 55" led tv we got on bf.  DH also got a gun on bf,and I got a Kitchen Aid mixer Pro 600 (when Jill told us about that awesome deal at BBB) so we are done.  I still need to get him something little from A, but I don't have any idea what to get.
  • Our gift to eache other was the TV. SO we decided that we would get each other one gift to open on christmas and stockign stuffers.

I got him the ant habitat he has been looking at for what seems to be forever now

  • We're not doing tons for each other this year.  We just had the wedding in July, and there's not a whole lot we really want or need.

I'm getting him some new boxers (Shut up. He asked for them!) I'll probably get him some clothes, and maybe a gift card to the ski resort in NY we both love since we plan on going in January anyways.

I had the kids get him the triple guitar stand he wanted, too.

  • We don't get each other gifts. We usually go on a trip but between me not working and having Ella and the bills that go with having Ella we decided no trip this year. We are going to see my sister for a week in March so we will have to buy plane tix for that soon.

  • Timot and I got a snow blower back in Aug so we had christmas VERY early!  We also just recently purchased a new TV for the living room.

Unfortunately for me everything happens in December with the Timot this year.

His birthday was yesterday (I got him tix to a comedian), his pinning ceremony for graduation (THANK GOD!!) is next week and then Christmas.

Also while he was on his ER rotation he only worked 5 days during the pay period so we are crazy strapped for cash.  He wants a PS3 really bad but I told him he's crazy.  There is no eff'ing way that is happening this year. haha.

All the stuff he put on his list this year (yes we make a list) are all big ticket items.  Like $200+ and I'm like I'd really love to buy you that $300 stethoscope but that's not happening! (we are hoping gift cards from graduation will help differ the cost for us since he'll need a new one.)  His current one was fine for school but it was damaged last year and the tubes need to be replaced, at the very least.

He also wants a new coat for christmas...*sigh* seriously...I think my hubby is a spend freak!

I think some golf balls or some tee's are gonna happen this year and that's about it.

i get j a new pair every year!!  (novelty ones that he cracks us at!)    lol

i got j an old spice sport scent gift set (deo, shower gel, body spray) and that's it so far.   i know that i'll get him some stocking stuffers (bbw antibacterial hand gel for the truck, a movie, etc) and he hinted at something for hunting as well.

  • I usually go for one big gift...  Last year was a 37" HDTV for the bedroom, the year before that was a laptop and the year before that was an iPod.

This year, though, I'm doing several "smaller" gifts - Big Star jeans, some new ballcaps, Coach wallet and some Curb Your Enthusiasm DVDs, Ray Ban Wayfarers.

  • We haven't really discussed it, but I've brought it up to DH that we maybe just get each other one small thing. We're spending so much on the kitchen, plus just went on vacation, I think we don't need to spend much for each other on Christmas.

  • I haven't yet decided.  I've gotten him a few things so far (a trio of some of our favorite football movies - I plan to include a box of Kleenex when i wrap them, new slippers and a book)...debating on what else.  He needs new jeans.  I want to get him a netbook, but he wants to buy one from a coworker.  I thought about a treadmill.  I also thought about getting a bigger tv for the tv room and moving the current tv to the soon to be nursery.
