i've noticed a lot of people are just not into the Christmas spirit this year. i, on the other hand, am more into it, earlier, than i ever have been in prior years. usually i can not stomach x-mas music until a couple days before but this year, i have been listening to it non-stop. i am generally in a much better mood. it's just so not typical of me.
what about you? are you in the christmas spirit? why or why not?
Re: Christmas Spirit
I am, but not as much as usual. I was really excited because my family and FI's family was coming here for Christmas and I was looking forward to hosting dinner and having everyone here, but for several reasons, it's not working out now. I'm now going to MI to be with my family and will be without FI this year, so I'm a little down about that.
Plus, this is my first Christmas without my Dad since he's passed and it's just not going to be the same.
I am sort of in the spririt although it has been really hard this year b/c I am not decorating due to the impending move. Also, we are spending Christmas in ATL. So without decorations, and the relativley warm temperatures and it's been hard. Plus, Christmas isn't exactly the majority holiday down here like it is in ATL (not judging, just making an observation) most people here are in the middle of their holiday celebration right now..
Going to WDW during the holidays is enough to put anyone in a good holiday spirit. I love the decorations and they always make me smile.
We don't go gung-ho decorating or anything at home though. We have the tree up and some lighted small trees and a wreath on the front door that I love. I'm an atheist that celebrates as part of tradition with family and friends, so I'm not big into Christmas music. DH loves it though.
The truth is, we're looking to move in January to a more ITP location. I have no idea where yet and we have not had anytime yet (on the weekends) to go look at places, let alone decorate our place. So I don't feel overly Christmasy so far.
I have done some shopping, though!
Call me Kat =^..^=
I am a bit more this year. Last year we got robbed on the 17th so it made me hate the holiday.
This year we've moved, new home, new decorations, all my shopping is done. I feel more festive.

We spend time with the kids each night lighting the Advent candles and reading a story about preparation for the birth of Christ. For those of you that celebrate Advent, when you have kids, I highly recommend "Jotham's Journey." It's fantastic.
I'm definitely in the spirit this year. I'm pretty much done shopping and decorating so now I just need to sit back and enjoy the ride.
I am pretty into the Christmas spirit this year, because this is our first as husband and wife
It is also my first year with my very own Christmas tree, so I was pretty excited to go cut it down the day after Thanksgiving.
I usually don't get into the spirit until about a week before Christmas.
We have our tree up and the house mostly decorated, and this is actually pretty early for me. Growing up, the tree always went up on my B-day (the 17th), so in my mind, that's about when Christmas should start to be celebrated. DH on the other hand, was trying to wish me Merry Christmas the first of November!
It is hard not to feel a bit more festive with him around.
