What's your least favorite Christmas song?
I love listening to Christmas music, but I swear every time Wham's "Last Christmas" comes on, I think to myself who can I talk to about getting that song off the radio station's play lists?
Re: What's your least favorite Christmas song?
Go Tell it on the Mountain. Such an earworm song, it ends up being stuck in my head for days.
Mr. Sammy Dog
margaritas in mexico
I also hate Wham's "Last Christmas"...but, I do love the new Glee version they play! LOL.
My absolute worst is "Christmas Shoes". ICK, I just can't stand it.
Pretty much everything played on 102.9. They really need some new songs thrown in their mix. It's the same 20 songs over and over and over and over...
"Simply having a wonderful Christmas time..." with the electric synth. makes my skin crawl.
I hate Wham's Last Christmas as well but like Glee's version. :-)
I admit that I am the only person in the world who loves Wham's Last Christmas. On top of that I didn't really like Glee's version. I am a freak of nature.
I hate Christmas Shoes and These Are a Few of My Favorite Things, even though it really doesn't seem like a Christmas song to me, but they always play it this time of year.
But Christmas Shoes makes me want to punch someone. I hate whoever wrote that song.
Judging
Ditto on Christmas Shoes and Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime - barf.
I also really dislike Happy Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and the choir of out-of-tune screeching children - it makes me want to claw my ears off.
Step into Christmas by Elton John is also pretty annoying.
This. All of this. at, "happy Christmas Yoko" "happy chritmas john". I am lunging to change the station. Out of tune kids are only cute when they're your own in my humble opinion.
I don't like "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause" especially this one version with a really annoying, whiny, "kid" singing it.
I also don't really like "Christmas Shoes."
This. Exactly.
I love anything Wham! - I don't care if George Michael is a trainwreck. I sacrificed a 4.0 GPA in my Master's program to see that man in concert.
I don't mind Favorite Things, but Christmas Shoes....I want to slit my wrists when I hear that song.
I don't like Babs Streisand's version of Jingle Bells either, or anything that comes out of Celine Dion's mouth.
Same here. I hate the almost techno sound to it too. Yuck!
Lately I've been listening to KTIS (98.5) and I love it. It's all listener funded so there aren't the normal annoying commercials like other stations. Plus, as a Christian, I love the message of all the music they play. Now that we are in the Christmas season I like hearing a variety of Christmas songs and not the same 15 played over and over again like 102.9 does.
Word.
That song makes me stabby.
Two Front Teeth, where the singer is making the whistling noise because his 2 front teeth are missing. It is on one of our cds at work and I bolt for the fast forward button when it comes on.
my read shelf:
Pretty much everything mentioned here. I also hated the Glee version of Last Christmas.
Also, Grandma got run over by a reindeer.
Christmas Shoes
Feliz Navidad - 2 languages and yet they can't come up with more than 10 words to use?!
TRUE! And, everytime I hear it I think of the Taco John's jingle...
(i'm sure i'll get flamed for this but) any overly Jesusy Christmas songs like God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and YES, i realize it's CHRISTmas (except in our house where it's LARSmas) but i'm not religious so i prefer songs that are either more just seasonal or secular.
I actually counted that out on my fingers to see if you were right.
You were right.
Christmas Shoes... Yuck!
ETA: I can only listen to the "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" song once before it drives me insant.
