What's for Dinner tonight?

I got nothing right now, except leftover beef barley soup.

Re: What's for Dinner tonight?

  • I think tonight will be egg sandwiches.  I was considering bailing on the gym tonight because my hamstrings are still pretty stiff, but I think a workout would do them some good, so, quick and easy eggs when I get home.  I may stop and get an avocado on the way home too.

  • Jay will be having tomato soup and grilled cheese because I am treating myself to a can of oxtail soup I picked up in South Africa and smuggled into the country.  Yum.

  • No idea. There is a roasted butternut squash in the fridge so I might make soup. Other than that, we have lots of spinach but it doesn't sound too appetizing right now. I may just end up snacking on whatever I can get my hands on.

    Alix. International Soup Smuggler.

I think the title has an aura of mystery around it!

  • You know it Wink

Coming back from Jo'Burg and landing in TO, the customs guy asked if we had any animal product to declare right? So I got a painted, hollow ostrich egg I wasn't sure about declaring, so I wrote it on the sheet just in case. He literally asked me if it was going to hatch and was all "because if it is, I can't let you take it."

  • LOL! I love it. I smuggled cheese from England into Japan one summer, but I think cans of soup definitely top that!
  • I'm keeping it simple tonight. We are having some spaghetti with some garlic bread.

  • Since Manuel has class I'll be going over to my mom's for dinner. I'll either have left over tamales from yesterday or whatever she makes tonight.

  • I'm pretty much going to eat whatever I can get my hands on. I've been feeling crummy lately after work, more than likely due to all the computer garbage I do all day. I really just want cereal..all the time. cocoa puffs to be exact. We still have some leftovers, too. I didn't eat my leftover chili for lunch, so that might be dinner.

  • We had a luncheon today with pizza from a great place around the corner.  I am still so full.  I Have no idea what we will be having for dinner (thats DH's thing), but I am hoping it is simple.  Grilled cheese and tomato soup sound so good though.  YUM.

  • We're doing a tomato-based pasta sauce that H made over the weekend. So good.
  • I have some chicken breast defrosting now and we're going to have some green beans and mashed potatoes with it. Any ideas on what I could do to dress the chicken up a bit? I normally just do S&P and some garlic powder, but I'm thinking I want to do something different tonight since I haven't cooked in a while.

I swear, the combination of soup and grilled cheese is just the peak of comfort food!

  • I am not having something as awesome as Alix (good to see you btw)

I made some chicken taco thing in the crockpot, because I was too lazy to actually cook today. However, we may go out for chicken wings instead.
