Sidedish Recipes

The people in my office were designated to bring side dishes to a luncheon we're having. I don't really cook all that much, my hubby is the cook, I'm the baker.

I'm wondering if you would share your fav side dishes (recipes too if you have them) so I can take something that will wow everyone.

  • Would you prefer a veggie, salad, or a casserole type dish?

I have a ton I can share with you once I get home and look in my recipe binder.

I don't really care either way (I'm a picky eater, so I don't experiment with different kinds of foods, but since I won't have to eat it, anything will work)! A few things others have signed up to bring are Roasted Potatoes, Pasta Salad, Baked Mac-n-Cheese, & Deviled Eggs. The main meet is Ham, if that makes a difference. Something that can be eaten cold or brought in a crock pot would be helpful since there is no way to re-heat food.

  • I say do her hashbrown casserole  it is awesome and people will love it!!!
  • Here's an easy one

    Green Been Casserole

2 pkgs (12 oz) frozen french style green beens

1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 oz)

1 can water chestnuts sliced (8 oz)

1 cup sliced mushrooms (I think I've used canned)

1 can (3 oz) french fried onions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine all ingredients except onions. Place in casserole and bake 30 min or until beans are tender. Sprinkle onions on top, bake about 10 minutes more or until onions are piping hot. Serves 6-8.

I'm not sure how I missed this the first time around, but it sounds like I need to try it.

  • TOTALLY make the hashbrown casserole!!!! I did it in the crockpot when i made it because I had the ham in the oven!  And it's AMAZING with ham!

Plus the crockpot makes it easy to keep warm.  You could prolly just put it all in the crockpot in the morning and plug it in at work since it only take a couple of hours.
