Belhurst/Mirbeau

We are trying to come up with a place to go for an overnight in February/March, where we can relax, go to a spa, and have a nice dinner.  I have never spent a night away from Evan, and I need to before I have this next baby and need to be in the hospital for 2+ nights.

Belhurst is more afforable than Mirbeau. I am working PT, so we are trying not to go too crazy with price.

Thoughts on either place?

Re: Belhurst/Mirbeau

  • I've never been to Belhurst's spa but have stayed overnight once and it was nice. and I've only been to the spa at Mirbeau- honestly I was underwhelmed for the $ and the changing area and "relaxation pool" area were total mob scenes.

I'd also suggest checking out the La Tourelle Inn in Ithaca. The August Moon Spa (at the hotel) had great treatments and was reasonable. There's a great steak restaurant right on the property as well. DH is veg, but luckily I was there for a girls weekend with my friend. Our room was really pretty- it's on my list to go back with DH sometime.

  • I liked Mirbeau but it is so expensive!  DH said the beds are the most comfortable he has ever slept on though.

  • I didnt even know that Belhurst had a spa!?

I just went to Mirbeau for the first time this fall for the spa, and I got a massage , I liked the relazxation area and the locker rooms, and the outdoor heated pool was nice... and it wasnt as hot as a jacuzzi - so i think that you could go in being pregnant... but dont quote me on it.
