Aaaargh!

So my iPhone suddenly asked me for a voicemail password. I dont have a freaking voicemail password!

So I call AT&T and they say that they're resetting it to the last 7 digits of my phone number (basically the phone number with out the area code).

Nope....still not working.

Can't even see how many voicemails I have.

This is just their jacked up way of getting me into an AT&T store to get me to upgrade to the iPhone 4

  • Dude - my phone does that all the time, and I HATE it. It took me forever to figure out my password and fix it. I don't know why it does that!

  • With the iPhone, apparently Apple did it with the new security/software upgrade. So if you have a phone that is not the iPhone 4, this has probably happened to you.

the AT&T employees are not happy with the influx of calls.

This happened to me with the last upgrade.  I couldn't get vmails for over two weeks.  So, we reset my phone to the setting before the upgrade and I haven't done another one since.  SO aggravating!

  • This happened to me twice! I thought I had pushed the wrong button or something, so I paid it no mind. Those software upgrades can really be tricky, and I'm always asking myself if I should update my phone or not. I remember when I bought my phone, the salesperson was telling me how a while ago some customers had upgraded their iPhone 3G everytime an upgrade was available, and this particular time their phones started running really really slow and they started experiencing problems.

  • ... haven't had any above listed problems ...

I love the Visual voicemail though.

This is exactly what is happening to mine. With every upgrade my phone gets slower and slower. I feel like it's a conspiracy to force me to upgrade.

It takes about 9 seconds for me to even open my text messages when the texts aren't open to begin with. Once the app is open, everything is in real time, but 9 second to open the app.

I firmly believe that Apple forces upgrades.
