Crate and Barrel - anyone have issues with them?
I placed an order on Cyber Monday, Nov 29th. It still has not been shipped to me! I called yesterday and complained for the 3rd time and they said they would change the warehouse it would ship from and send it next day air. Now stuff is showing backordered and processing and standard delivery.
Anyone else have issues with shipping with them? I'm so annoyed because I ordered holiday decorations for a party this weekend and now I wont get them at all.
I'm about to call for the 4th time to tell them what I think about it. I'm sure they will just give me the option to cancel since they are probably out of stock of everything now.

Ugghh...how annoying...I've never had problems with their shipping, but this is obnoxious....yuck...I'd say you should try to cancel the order if you odn't htink you'll use them next year....also worth trying to finagle an extra credit or something.
I always try to get something extra when the customer service for some place has been less than stellar - we recently had problems with Delta while making our holiday flight plans - I was able to get DH's plane ticket changed for free and $150 voucher on Delta for each of us. Don't underestimate the value of complaining by writing a well thought out letter. I think people say they're going to do it, and then don't...so the number of complaints they actually get are probably few and far between.
I guess I just needed to vent!! I've ordered from them a couple times in the past and never had this problem. Maybe they got slammed on Cyber Monday.. who knows, but it sucks.
I called them again and she says she is going to "work on my order" and call me back. I'm not that hopeful since I've called several times before and the situation just seems to go nowhere. But maybe she can work a miracle here.

Ok, I think I got the nicest woman over in the order department. She is amazing. She got some stuff shipped from stores and some from other warehouses and everything is next day air. I'm impressed. AND she gave me a $50 gift card.
Ok, Crate and Barrel is awesome again even though I still wont get most of it by Saturday for my party.

I haven't ordered much from there in the past but typically haven't had issues. Is this stuff you can buy in person at a local store?
I think I'd make other plans as far as party decorations. Then call them tomorrow, say it's too late for your party and you're very disappointed in their shipping standards and general handling of the situation. Ask for a complete refund and see if they'll throw in a gift card or something to make it up to you?
Yes, its in the stores in some places which is why she is having it shipped from the stores now too. I just got 15% off because of Cyber Monday and I wouldnt get that if I went and bought it in the store now. It sucks not get it by the party, but I have other decorations up.. it just wont be complete. There is always next year. First year in the new house so I'm working on getting enough decorations.
At least she worked really hard to try to make it up to me. I wasnt expecting anything at all given my past phone calls (and I was nice to her on the phone).

My boots were shipped Fed Ex...SmartPost. Wonder if that's what is holding up you order? The millions of orders jamming up the alraedy crappy system. (I HATE FedEx...I'm partial to UPS).

Ugh, that really stinks. I've ordered from them a bunch of times and never had any issues (we also registered there and had many things shipped to us, again no issues). One thing about C&B is that they've always taken care of us. The slightest thing (like a glass that came broken, or when we bought furniture and one of the shelves was not the right size) was always taken care of immediately and we received discounts.
I would call again and see what's going on with the back order and when the items will be available. Ask if it is all the warehouses or just the warehouses on this side of the coast and ask if it's possible to locate the items in the store and if you can have them set aside for you to go pick up (this isn't ideal obviously, but you'd at least get them immediately). And regardless of the situation, ask if you will be compensated in any way.

Well.. fortunately (or unfortunately depending upon your view) my orders never left the warehouse. They just sat at "Shipping Soon" status for over a week.
I just saw 2/5 packages have shipped today next day air. So she really did work her magic. Lets hope the other 3 (really only 1 I care about) also go out today or tomorrow. Maybe a miracle will happen and they will arrive before my party.
