Christian always wants motorcycle things so it's impossible to surprise him anymore. We are not that exciting, we just pick it out and the other orders it, lol.
Think this year we are gonna put $ together and buy a laptop or he is getting a new set of racing leathers and I'm getting a tennis bracelet, I'm leaning more towards the 2nd option
Since my windshield decided to spider clear across the whole thing on Monday. I got a new windshield for my car. Just what I wanted! (note the sarcasm) but I guess it beats paying for it myself.
As for the hubs. I have no idea yet.
I got DH a carhartt sweatshirt (he works outside), sneakers, and a back chair massager - this thing was crazy expensive! But he's always talked about having one and I know he won't every spend his $ on one. We also do stocking stuffers which I load up small things.
I think he got me the LL Bean jacket I've been eyeing up and a digital food scale.
I got DH tickets to Country Thunder, BBQ sauce (special and that he already found!) for a stocking stuffer, a beanie (he picked out), and I'm thinking about a portable grill. That is if he doesn't spend all the $ on the Teryx before I can get him anything.
I have no clue what the DH will get me. I've given him a bunch of LOUD hints but he's honestly only done me good (nice english right) once in our 8 Xmas's together. I always seem to over do it and then I get something he wants me to have, not what I want to have. So I'm expecting something for the Teryx that he'll claim I get to use. Oh how I love my DH.
DH's and my present to ourselves, is we a going to makeover our basement. I'm turning it into a real 'mantown'. There's not a ton that need to be done down there, but the whole basement and garage need a full sweep and purge. That's mostly my gift to him, since I'll be doing most of the work.
As far as his gift to me, he looked the other way when I went on a VS shopping spree.
What do you get a man who has everything? I have no idea.
He is taking me on a trip right after Christmas. I have no idea where we are going or when we are coming back. This sort of terrifies me. Sigh. I just wanted shoes... (shocking)

With our unexpected recent trip to Hawaii, we decided that we weren't going to exchange gifts this year, especially since we were supposed to go back to Hawaii again in April for my Grandmother's 90th Birthday. I'm not sure if that trip is going to materialize after all, so we've been trying to figure out what to get each other.
I've picked up a few "stocking stuffer" type gifts, but have no clue what else. Like Lisa, all Brian really wants is Motorcycle stuff. Ugh. All I told my kiddos and Bri that I want is a Soda Stream.

How are you going to pack?!
I always buy dh clothes (socks, boxers, pj pants) for xmas. He'll get those (and I'm sure he expects them) plus a nice pair of jeans that he won't expect and I just finished his gifts today and ordered the complete Blu ray series of battlestar galactica. I think he thinks there is no chance in he!! that I would spend that kind of money on a TV series I don't even like, so he should be shocked by that. I usually just buy him practical stuff (like clothes and sneakers) or we'll buy a big gift for both of us for the house.
I know I'm getting slippers (b/c I get them every year and I was with him when he bought them this year). I gave him a list the other day but I'm not sure if he'll buy off the list or something else. I asked for a dslr camera, sewing machine, clothes, or a spa gift certificate.
Well, I had something in mind but then I decided I didn't want to get it for him anymore. I told him I wasn't getting it for him because it seems like something he would buy for himself if he really wanted it. I'm kicking myself now because I should have just gotten it. It's an accessory for his smoker, so he can make smoked cheeses and other things that need to be "cold smoked". I had decided I was going to get him a meat slicer since he liked to make pastrami a lot, even though it's above the price range we had agreed on.
I really, really wanted a Soda Stream for Christmas. It's also above the $ we set, but last year he went WAY over the agreed on price, so I figured this was a good middle ground for him. Well I'm 99% sure he isn't getting it for me now, which in a way kinda pisses me off. He's always saying how he never knows what to get me and blah blah blah. So the one time I'm like "This is what I want." And he doesn't do it? Whatevs. I'm being a b!tch, I know.
It's not the gift, it's that I told him what I wanted after he was continually saying "just tell me what you want!" and then I do, and he ignores me. It's just frustrating.
I already bought DH a CD box set of the Pearl Jam closing down the Spectrum (a famed arena in Philly) 4 show concerts. We went to the last 2 of the 4 shows (little did I know at the time that it was actually Caroline's first concert
They played every song in their catelog over the course of the 4 shows. This is my surprise gift.
He asked for new sneakers (as usual) and some new workout shorts. He'll also be getting socks (both work and sweat) in his stocking. I'm also thinking about getting him a robe. It sounds funny but now that my mom comes over to watch the baby in the mornings, I think he could use it. She sometimes comes up to get the baby when he hasn't even gotten in the shower yet. If I can find one relatively cheap, that's what he's getting. Our limit is supposed to be $250, so I think that's it.

We're going to Seattle at the end of January - our joint Xmas gift to eachother was buying the plane tickets. Having an experience/making memories is how we like to roll in terms of buying gifts for eachother. We are going to do small stocking stuff though...I'm thinking of getting DH that sweet mustache mug I posted in the white elephant post and maybe some fleece gloves or an Itunes gift card.
Not sure what DH will stuff in my stocking (LOL that sounded dirty!) We did the same thing last year since we went to Mazatlan in mid-December, he bought me a sweet Michael Jackson tshirt that I love

I didn't even know Soda Streams existed, but that's exactly something I would want. And with a BB&B 20% coupon, they might not be so bad price-wise!
We weren't really going to exchange gifts. Matthew doesn't believe in buying gifts just to buy something because it's a holiday, and I'm not a fan of how commercialized everything is. But, the reality is, getting and giving gifts is fun! He is still wearing a Carhartt coat that is over 10 years old, is faded and has ratty sleeves. So, I'm contemplating getting him a new one, but I'm worried he won't like it as much. I haven't started looking yet, so we'll see if that plan materializes.
I don't know when it came out, but the concert was the last weekend in Oct 2009 so it must be somewhat recent. This concert series wasn't part of a tour or anything. They specifically came to Philly just to be the final event ever at the Spectrum (which is now in the process of being torn down) and they said that they would play every song that they knew over the course of the 4 nights. It was really cool. I bought it on the Ten Club site. It was $60.
I remember you posting that you were going - so cool! That's crazy I can only find the cd set at the Ten Club site. I wonder how much the digital download costs...when I click on that it takes me to an "error" page.

We haven't even talked about exchanging for one another this year.
If anything, they'll be little things...just stuff to open on Christmas morning. With Mady coming, I plan on getting most of her stuff and not spending a lot on one another. (This is MY plan, anyway.)

That's the way to go! DH & I agreed earlier this year, to spend $ on a vacation for our anniversaries, rather then exchange gifts. I'm thinking we should do the same for Christmas also, it would make things much easier. If anything we could still do stockings (which I find contain the best gifts, the older I get!) lol.
ahem... I bought myself a bunch of things I wanted just in case Erik didn't do a great job shopping. hehe
he's getting: beer of the month for a year, artwork that I designed and will make, some jeans, and other not-so-fun stuff.
I, on the other hand, will be getting some great stuff (courtesy of ME), and I want a double oven
We normally just do stockings for eachother, and try to take a trip around december as our gifts. His stocking will have a lot of survival camping stuff, which seems kinda mean(fire starter, duct tape, emergency blankets) but he loves it and gets so excited about it. I just started giving him hints but I'm kinda in love with this so I'm hoping to get those in my stocking.
