So my Dad is giving us $1K to get appliances of our choice.  We really do not need a Fridge, but we do need a dishwasher, want a new gas range/stove and an overhead microwave.  We are hoping to get all 3 for the 1K.  Do you think this is possible and any suggestions as to where we should shop for the best deal???

    two words, OPEN BOX, lol.  I got my 5 burners stand alone gas range less than half prices because it was the floor model, I got a 2009 model overhead microwave in 2010 that was the display for about 90% off, and I got the open box dishwasher with a slight nick on the plastic display part.  I got all three of those stainless steal appliances for less than $1k.  Now my fridge on the other hand, cost more than all 3 put together!

    Wow, that is awesome.  What store did you shop at.  Did you just go in and say I want open box?  lol.  I started looking on craigslist, saw a few that looked good, but seem a bit risky for such a large ticket item.  Thanks for your input!

    I would do a google search for appliance outlets near your location.  Near us we have Appliance Factory Outlet, but I think it is local.  We are getting our built in ice maker for half price because there is a small dent in the side that you will not even see when it is installed!

    usually places like sears have scratch and dent or floor models that are reduced. we got our fridge from sears, brand new with some cosmetic flaws inside, for less than half!

    We got the microwave and stove from Home Depot and the diswasher at Lowes
