OB/GYN for Type 1 Diabetic in Tampa
Hi girls,
I am a type 1 diabetic and planning for pregnancy. I want to find an OBGyn I am comfortable with treating ME as a person, and not what the textbook says. I am looking for any insight into your experiences and who you would recommend. Likes, dislikes, what your experience is/ was... I can't be the only Type 1 here who wants a baby, right?!
Thanks!
~Sarah
Re: OB/GYN for Type 1 Diabetic in Tampa
I am not sure about the diabetes thing. But I would recommend Drs Reichman and Hardy-Hunter located at St. Joes. Its not a big group of doctors so they treat YOU and get to know YOU. I had a very complicated pregnancy and Dr. H-H was awesome on a professional and personal level. You will find that more than 50% of this board recommends one of these 2 ladies.
Phone Number:
(813) 877-1502I second Dr. Hardy-Hunter, she is currently my OB and she is really really awesome. I never feel rushed, she talks to ME. And listens to whatever I have to say. Def give her a call.
Thank you for this suggestion? Do you know if they practice at another hospital? I do know for sure that St. Joe's will NOT take a Type 1 D pregnancy/ delivery... As crazy as it sounds, they won't. I have to use either UCH or TGH. I would love a Dr who talks to me as a person! I may have to call and check them out. Thank you for the suggestion!

I will call and check them out. Thanks for your vote ;-)
