We had a good time.  Sophie was a real trooper!  We got there about 5 minutes after 8 am and left about a quarter after 2 pm.  I'm trying to upload some pictures... but here's one of me and Sophie waiting to go in.  Check out her hat.

    Awwwww. And in a few years you can explain to her how she was at a rally for our president, and then she can tell her children and grandchildren that she was part of history!

    It was really good.  He's a very gifted orator.  It's totally cheesy, but he had me welled up once or twice.  It's very different, somehow, listening to him in person.  I don't know how to explain it.  The campaign people there were so kind and well organized.  There was a full house at Richmond Coliseum, with overflow over at the convention center.  He was a bit late to come on (I understand this is generally true for all rallies).  I ended up lucking out a little bit and catching the office manager for his Midlothian campaign headquarters in the parking deck, and he let me tag along with them, so I got a little closer than I probably otherwise would have been.  (I was late enough that I probably should have sat in the upper level, but was floor level).  I had lots of fun.

    Aww that sounds awesome!  We had a blast at the Biden rally on Sunday but I couldn't help but think how much MORE awesome it would have been if it was Obama!

    Ha!  Unfortunately, it's just that her mom's a dingbat.  I did not think about the temperature differential between sunny & shady during the fall in VA... so I failed to layer her up sufficiently.  oh well,.  I thought it ended up being cute w/o being over the top Wink
