1 more reason to love Dyson!
Ok, so I know there is a huge Dyson Fan Club on this board and I wanted to share my newest reason to be a member. I've had my Dyson Animal for about 4 years. Last week, when I went to carry it upstairs using the handle, the canister easily popped off. "Hmmm...that's weird," I thought. Tried again, same thing. After about a 20 minute examination, I found out that the little plastic 1 inch by .5 inch ledge that catches the canister to secure it to the body of the vacuum broke off. After visiting the website, I called Dyson and they said that since this piece was part of the larger "cyclone" motor, they needed to send me a whole new canister...free of charge!!!
Got it yesterday and it's like a brand new vacuum! Yeah Dyson!

DH broke that part off once and I had to buy the cyclone to replace it, but it was still worth it. For exactly the reason you said, it was like brand new! lol
(FWIW I have an original DC07 before the warranty got better, so it was clearly out of warranty when it happened.)
We got our Dyson for free because my husbands job was working on packaging for them, love my Dyson!
