Ok so there are conflicting stories in this article. Apparently the Salvation Army refuses to give out Twilight and Harry Potter toys to needy children because it goes against their Christian beliefs (wizardry and vampires and whatnot). Well that's fine, and that's their choice.
The "source" in the article states that he was told to "DISCARD" these items. According to his statement, they do not pass these toys on to another charitable organization that is "ok" with said toys, but rather choose to just trash them.
A rep for the SA states that they DO pass them on to other organizations.
I IS CONFUSED.
So if the former is true then SHAME ON YOU SALVATION ARMY! First of all, someone purchased that toy and donated it with good intention because you did not inform them of your stance and you're just going to throw it in the trash when there are SO many kids out there to help?!?!?! What the what!?!?!
I mean, I consider myself a Christian but have a strong belief in Buddhist values. But these people are just taking the use of Christianity as an excuse to do whatever they want TOO far! (I'm still all jacked up from the WBC post below!)
That is all.
