Re: *Melissa*
I know, I know. It's just really hard right now with all the foods I love/crave surrounding me. I allow myself to have a little bit here & there so I don't go crazy. These days the "little bit" is a "little more."
I just need to get through New Year's.
In reality, I'm probably not even eating that horribly. It just seems that way from being so strict. I'm also at that point where I'm tired of what I'm eating. I just know it's a slippery slope.
It doesn't help that the butcher we go to closed for 2 months (relocation was supposed to take 2 weeks) and has just reopened. They close on Sundays and Mondays and weekdays by 6, so unless we can get there on Saturday to stock up, we're f'ed. Plus it's dark and everything has to be cooked in the oven. No grilling, blah blah. Yeah, it's all excuses.
If I can continue to maintain and not get too off track through the holidays, I'll call it a win. It's just hard. I'm bummed about a lot of things right now and it makes me weak.

Melissa - I'm assuming your butcher is @ Towne Lake? If so, there's one of 92 past the WalMart on the left -

They're open Sunday 12-6....
Also, have you spoken to your doc about the "staleness" of your diet? I think its setting you up for failure if you don't like what you are only allowed to eat, KWIM? Maybe you and your DH could have a day of cooking on a Saturday and try new things that you think you'd hate but you may like. There's got to be more foods out there that you haven't tried but may like and are good for your diet. I'd def try a trip to Harry's or Whole Foods or TJs to try the healthier side of food without the lackluster "diet" feel! The bigger stores often have people and classes that will help you try new things.
Good luck! You're doing great!
Call me Kat =^..^=
Thanks for the tip on the other butcher. We'll have to give them a try. The one we go to is on Towne Lake and moved from close to Kroger to close to Publix. DH complains that it's out of the way now and still bitches that they closed the mini-Publix by our house. Now that I know that the other one is open on Sunday, it'll be worth the extra drive for the convenience.
I really wish they would put in a TJ or WF near us. I can't seem to drag DH into one.
I rarely go south of Barrett and it takes a lot to get DH to want to drive any further than that. I guess because he has to drive so much for work that he hates driving anywhere on the weekends.
