Interesting fb status update...

So I'm friends with this girl from hs and she has had the same status update three times this week. The content of the messages so makes me want to comment that she is being so tacky! Apparently she is moving into a new apt and hosting a housewarming in 3 days. She linked a bed bath and beyond registry link with something about 3 days til the party. I find it so rude! If I were going I'd out of spite buy a non registry item!

  • When I was right out of college and didn't know any better I was invited to a housewarming for a coworker and given a registry card.

It was *hinted* at every day that the party was approaching and had I looked at the registry yet.

I only worked at the position for 3 months total.

She had two kids and had registered for full bedroom sets for both of them. I felt bad buying for one and the other.

So two random kids, that I never met got brand new comforters from me, and I didn't even go to the party and can't even remember the ladies name.

Now that I know better. Crazy tacky.

  • People actually do a registry for a housewarming? Seriously? I totally wouldn't bring anything off the registry, either. Geez.

  • If you are going. Bring a bottle of wine or a plate of cookies.

I would show up with a BB&B catalog, give her the 20% coupon and say " buy yourself something nice "

but, I am passive agressive like that. Wink

This.  I had no idea people put a registry together for a housewarming party.  Very tacky to expect people to bring you gifts.

I thought it was a bit strange to register for a housewarming.  We never even did a housewarming party-just invited people to drop in whenever they were in the area to see the house.

What is even worse, is the fact that she seems to have a pretty serious boyfriend, who probably will propose shortly (they've been together forever now).  This girl is probably going to have a shower & wedding relatively in the near future!

And no, I'm not going nor was I thankfully invited:)

You're not even invited to this shin dig? She's just blanket posting it on her facebook status for everyone to see, even those not invited???
