Thoughts & Prayers needed for our Alicia....
I just spoke to Alicia a little while ago and her aunt, who had been battling cancer but was doing pretty well, has taken a turn for the worse. The cancer has spread throughout her abdomen, including her pancreas, and there is nothing they can do for her.
She is being released from the hospital this afternoon to spend the weekend with the family, and they are moving their Christmas celebration to this weekend because they don't think she'll make it that far.
All thoughts and prayers for Alicia and her family are appreciated. Alicia is very close to her aunt, so this is very difficult for her. Cancer sucks. Or in the words of a good friend in MN who just lost her mom to cancer - F*CK CANCER.
We love you Alicia. We're here for you and whatever you need.

So sorry to hear that! Alicia my thoughts & prayers are with you.
Thank you, ladies.
Michele did a pretty good recap. But, the details of Christmas got lost in translation. My aunt and her family (her husband, two children, their spouses, and her grandchildren) will be having their Christmas celebration this weekend so that she can be there when the kids open their presents, since it is unknown whether she will actually make it to Christmas. She's been given three weeks.
As for my extended family, our annual Christmas celebration has been canceled this year. We'd pushed it back a week for the past couple of years anyway. This year, it's just too much to plan and organize with the uncertainty of my aunt's health.
There are more health concerns in my family right now. I don't want to go into details but I would appreciate prayers for my cousin (who is expecting child #2 within the next month).
