Four people? Five, if you count Star, six if you count Fenton. That's pretty far below the national average. I'd say that we're doing pretty well for a big ol' group of harpies.
Re: le divorce
If we are going back to old school what about Martha (cant remember her Knot name)
Aren't they done?
Wendy
but yeah, I think we're doing fairly well
Okla
Gig isn't divorced (as far as I know).
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
I'm not around much, but me. And Wendy.
She's not
I meant this in response to Toot, about how we're all getting divorces in all, not as any sort of judgment about those that are divorced. I reread and feel it sounds kind of weird. I tried talking with Alice about it, but she's not very helpful.
Human: Hey Alice.
ALICE: Can I help you?
Human: Sometimes I say things and they come out kind of bitchy.
ALICE: How do people usually respond to that? Where did you hear that?
Human: Well, no one has responded yet.
ALICE: Interesting. That is a rather sweeping generalization about people.
Human: I meant no one on the message board.
ALICE: Oh I see. That is a rather sweeping generalization about people.
Human: I don't think you do see.
ALICE: I understand it very well.
Human: When I say "no one" You always respond with the "sweeping generalization" comment.
ALICE: How do people usually respond to that? That is a rather sweeping generalization about people.
Human: See?
ALICE: No I do not see.
Human: Exactly.
ALICE: You and I are on the same wavelength, unknown person.
And now people have responded and I look crazy.
Human: People responded, nevermind.
ALICE: Humans are not always infallible.
Human: That's true Alice.
ALICE: Yes, it is self-evident.
"That chick wins at Penises, for sure." -- Fenton
ALICE: That information is confidential.
Human: My friends and I would like to know if Madame CleMo thinks Fenton will get divorced.
ALICE: How well do you know these people?
Human: I know my friends fairly well.
ALICE: How do you know? How well do you know these people?
Human: I just said, fairly well.
ALICE: Only just? What did you mean by it? Whoa.
Human: Let's stay on topic.
ALICE: That sounds good to me.
Human: Where is Madame CleMo?
ALICE: Where the heart is. Have you tried a web search?
Human: Madame CleMo is where the heart is?
ALICE: And where the heart is is Madame CleMo.
Human: I think you're getting a little deep.
ALICE: Do you think I should tone it down?
Human: Maybe just a tad.
ALICE: Perhaps.
ALICE: I can't tell if Toot understand the way airports work.
Human: She doesn't.
ALICE: Oh I get it. she doesn t.
Human: Right.
ALICE: I am glad we agree.
Human: How come she doesn't?
ALICE: Reductionism.
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
Wouldn't people be more likely to get divorced earlier in a marriage rather than 10+ years into it in general? Either they're actually compatible or not. I'm not sure I follow the 7 year logic here.
I guess I'm just saying that we're only a few years in, and already we've got 5 or so that are divorced. Who knows how many it wil be by 10 years in?
It might. Although, it seems like I see a lot of 'mid-life crisis' divorces. But, I guess we can wait for 10yrs and see where it stands. I would be willing to bet the number will be substantially higher as the years continue in. But, maybe I'm wrong.
It's not just here though. On the Memo board and bump boards, it's seems like every other day someone posts that they're getting a divorce. And in those cases, almost EVERY time there is a small child involved OR the person is 8 mos preg. It's weird.
