Cute puppies -- FB continuation

I had no idea you wouldn't share your rugelah recipe!  How in the world did I manage to guess that one?

Anyway, I know this is the wrong holiday season, but there is a cookie or something that I had at a Purim party once that had poppy seeds in it, I think it was call hamentashen (sp?) or something like that.  Can you teach us how to make that?

Oh, and thanks for reminding me that I need to blog about the challah I made for boss lady.  It was REALLY good and the second round came out so pretty and golden.  And I'm making red velvet cupcakes this weekend for my bff, by special request, so I'll probably blog those too.  I'm making other holiday stuff, but it's all for gifts, so I can't blog it until after Christmas.

  • Ha! It's the one recipe I will potentially share (yes, I said only potentially) with my mother and sister!

It's the bomb, but it's mine. All mine. It's something I only want to pass down to family. I don't know why, but it's super special to me...I've been making it since I was 5.

Hamentaschen...yes. So it's usually in the March time frame. I can do that. My sister and I both made them this year w/ different recipes and they came out pretty tasty; but different than my mothers (my mother was pissed we didn't use HER recipe); I think I am going to do a combination of the 3 this coming year.

You can put Mun (pronounced Muuun) which is poppyseed, or chocolate, or different types of jelly/jame (apricot, raspberry, etc).

Yes, post the Challah recipe- I am curious to see how you made it!!

  • My fave hamantashen are filled with prune butter (lekvar). I can get my mom's recipe for that and for her kickass rugelach easily, if you want them. She's always free about her recipes. Her one caveat with Apple pie is that she prefers you come bake it with her the first time because it's easier shown than explained. Same with blintzes.
