And which one?
I currently have an LG EnV (I think). It has no web. It only has a camera and I can use it to make calls and text.
I'm thinking about upgrading to a smart phone. I previously had a blackberry but it was so complicated that I returned it, within the first 30 days of having it.
I just got an email from Dell and they have a Samsung Galaxy free for new AT&T customers or those willing to sign a new 2-year. DH has the iphone and wants to get the iphone 4? He's willing to give me his current phone and he'll get the new iphone. I don't want to pay more than $100 for a phone because I'm cheap, but I want a new phone. So I'm thinking I might just get this one.
Are smart phones better? Yes, I know they're capable of browsing the web, etc. I guess I need to ask myself if I really need one.
Re: Who has a Smart Phone?
I had a Blackberry Storm (which is no longer supported), and currently have an HTC Incredible. I love having a smart phone and the Incredible is so much better than my BB (although I do miss BB Messenger).
I use my phone for email all the time - both work and personal. It's connected to my Google calendar and contacts list so I have access to all my appointments and such.
The web feature is different for everyone. I use it for certain things that don't have apps I like, or to prove I'm right about something
. DH uses it all the time to browse the web, watch clips and play apps. He's also been using it as a GPS. All these things drain your battery, so keep in mind you'll be charging your phone more often if you use them.
In other words, it does really depend on you and what you use your phone for. I don't actually use it as a phone that often. And smartphones require data plans which will increase your bill.
i have the envy (bc my phone broke and they sent me the envy...) and hate it. used to have a bberry and LOVED it more than anythig (except G and my mac book). if i wasn't told by verizon that they were getting the i phone next month, then i would go back to the bberry.
yes, i think smart phones are worth it. i f*cking hate the envy, hate not having my smart phone anymore and really miss the internet.

What?!?! If this is the case then I'll go back to Verizon and get the iphone.
I love my puppy ... and my husband, I swear!
I have a Droid and I love it. I couldnt wait for Verizon to get the Iphone because my BB totally crapped out on me. But I read up on the differences between the iPhone and the Droid and it seemed like the Droid was a bit better for me!
Sometimes I wish I didnt depend on my phone so much. It was nice having a $40 phone bill instead of a $120.00 one. I guess that's life when you want technology!
I have the DroidX and LOVE it! It does everything. The only downfall is the lack of battery life so if you get a smartphone, GET a car charger too!
And, Jeremy was told by Verizon they were getting the iPhone in January too. Just call customer service and double check but pretty sure they are.
I was told Verizon will have the Iphone at the end of January because ATT won't have a monopoly on it any more! :-)
I'm switching to a smart phone this month...so thank you for posting this!! xxoo
I have an iphone. I use it for emails, as a daily calendar, to take notes, to keep track of my ovulation dates, I play angry birds on it (DO NOT GET SUCKED IN - it is a life changer). I listen to music on it. I browse the web constantly. I cannot remember life pre-smart phone. It definitely think it's worth it.

H and I both have a Samsung Acclaim and we LOVE them! We got them mainly b/c we moved and there were limited internet providers where we were going, so we wanted to be able to use our phones.
Before these, i was simple phone kinda gal. As long as I could call and text, I was happy. It took me the weekend we got them to play around and figure everything out, but it was worth it!
This made me laugh out loud.
