The city plow threw so much snow at one time, one post of the mailboxes snapped in half.
The MSP airport is closed and will be for the rest of the afternoon. They cannot keep the runways cleared and it's a white out due to winds of 40 mph. The Giants are playing the Vikings tomorrow but have been diverted to Kansas City until this passes.
We have gotten about 10 inches of snow since 1 am CST and it's not stopping. The current radar shows that blobs just spinning on top of us, round and round.
Kids will be staying with Grandpa again tonight. It would take too long to shovel out of the driveway right now.
Yucky yuck.
How's your day?

Re: Snow storm
WOW! That's nuts! Please stay safe and warm!
Today is going alright for me. I'm alone for the next few days as the H is in Vegas with his brothers. I'm waiting, not so patiently, for him to let me know he landed safe. His plane got in about 45 minutes ago and I have yet to get a text from him.
I went X-mas shopping this morning and now I'm trying to get the house in order and hopefully get the gifts I bought wrapped with time to do homework this evening.
That is a lot of snow, Knibs. I bet the girls are having fun with their Grandpa. It sounds like just about everywhere is having a rough winter already. It is pretty cold at home and they have already had some snow. It actually makes me very nervous bc we are driving home in mid January. I just hope it isn't too treacherous in those mountains.
Today I have gotten the kitchen cleaned and all but one load of laundry done. It is pretty cloudy here, going to get some rain later tonight and all day tomorrow. I still need to clean the bathroom and put clean sheets on the bed, but the bathroom may just wait until tomorrow esp if we go to the mall in a bit.
The weather is actually pretty nice here. We had a long rainstorm yesterday, but no valley snow, which is pretty unusual for December in Utah.
I'm still mad about something that happened last night. I posted in TGIF about going to a Christmas festival. H and I bought a couple of gifts and then took a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. They were trying to move through the line so we went with a woman and her two little kids. We were kind of in a hurry to get dinner and seats for a show and we accidentally left the bag with the presents in it in the carriage. Less than 5 minutes later, we realized we had left them and H went to get them. The woman running the carriage said she had found the bag and asked who it belonged to and the woman we had ridden with said it was hers and took it (she did not have any bags with her). We looked for her, but she was gone. She stole our things and left. Great example for her kids.
Anyway, today should be fun. We are off to St, Nicholas tea at my mom's and then we are getting our tree. Stay safe, Nibs!
Holy that's a lot of snow. A perfect excuse to curl up in a blanket and watch movies that's for sure. Our town was shut down a couple of weeks ago for 4 inches of snow (which is a lot for the valley I'm in.)
Chelsiver- What a witch! Hopefully karma gets her!
I cleaned the house today and wrapped all of the presents that we've bought so far. It really needed it... We could hardly walk through our living room because of all of the crap.
I have peanut butter cookie dough chilling in the fridge and made my first pretty unsuccessful attempt at making cake balls.
Now I just want to wach Sex and the City 2 and wait until H gets home to do anything else.

Prelim reports are saying that Minneapolis had about 14 inches by about 3:00 this afternoon. Bloomington had almost 16.
I have only seen snow like this once before and that was during that freak storm in 1993 when Chattanooga got about 20 inches in a day.
Grandpa kept the kids again tonight so that none of us had to get out. Hell, it took half an hour to shovel the driveway enough to even walk normal out there.

I would be pissed too. What a b!tch! She will get her payback for that and hopefully it will be soon. It is so sad that what should be a happy & joyful season sometimes isn't. I know things are tight for so many people, but come on, there are so many food and clothing and toy drives around, that she could have gotten some help if she really needed it.

this is excessive, mother nature!

Yeah, there is a huge thread going over on E on TK about it.
